Bio

Roxanne Tataei, a singer/songwriter from South London, was born on 23rd March 1988, in St. Thomas's Hospital. She wasn't the prettiest of babies - quite the contrary, in fact, and the first thing her dad said when he saw her was, "What’s wrong with her head?"

Happily, as the years progressed she looked a bit better, and found a love for music and acting at an early age. She started in theatre at the age of 11 and toured around the UK performing in shows with The NYMT (National Youth Music Theatre). Through years of theatrical work, she developed a love for song writing and playing the piano.

Eventually she realised the piano wasn't really her thing but instead discovered that the guitar was her real love. Her mum bought her first guitar at the age of 14 and she's been unable to put it down since.

She moved on to the Brit School, had an amazing experience, wrote loads of songs, had loads of opportunities, fell in love, and made friends for life...but she still felt her music and her voice weren’t what they should or could have been. So, as the end of school was near and as she found herself in a very strange place in life, she decided to escape to Mexico to work on both and find herself.

Some time later Roxanne returned to the UK transformed into ROX with some bangin' tunes in her pocket, a bigger and better voice, and some sexy dresses. Having fused the inspiration and hope of the muse with the humanness and imagination of the stage performer into an epic whole, she’s found both her voice and her style, which she calls “Theatrical Jazz”.

The result is music that not only captures the imagination and sounds amazing, but looks as great as it sounds. When you see her live good luck not being enraptured by the voice and charms of this musing siren; you have been forewarned.
