Bio

Finding a balance between school and social activities is often a great undertaking for the typical teenager. Add to that the full-time task of pursuing a music career; the challenge increases exponentially. It takes a rare and strong young person to be able to accomplish such a goal – someone like Roxanne. This Jacksonville, Florida, native is not your typical teenager.

The second oldest in a family of five children, Roxanne began her affinity for the stage as a small child. With the entertainment business being the focal point of Roxanne’s dream, her parents are supportive and have sought out the best professionals available to work with her. Since the age of two Roxanne has been taking dance classes and is now a member of the All Star Senior Group, a Jacksonville, Florida-based nationally award-winning dance troupe. Dance is a very powerful and exciting medium for Roxanne and she heavily incorporates it into her musical stage performance. Currently Roxanne travels with four professional dancers as part of her show in addition to a top-of-the-line live band.

When Roxanne was eight years old she began modeling and acting. Her unique look landed her commercials for national brands as NFL and Burger King and also a part in the Aaron Spelling production Safe Harbor starring Gregory Harrison.
Of all her talents, singing has always been Roxanne’s top passion. Roxanne’s first big musical audition happened when she was ten. She auditioned, along with over 300 other hopefuls, to perform on the River City Opry, a north Florida venue for showcasing rising talent. Roxanne became the youngest person ever selected to appear on the River City Opry. She was initially brought on to perform two shows each weekend for over three months. Her tenure continued with performances at The Great Southern Opry throughout the year.

The success that Roxanne garnered during her stage performances took her career to the next level. She recorded an independent album at age 10 incorporating many influences including pop, gospel and country. Roxanne reveals, “I love so many varieties of music, but I would have to say that my favorite performers are Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez. I admire Christina a lot because she began her career when she was young too…plus she has an incredible voice.” Her strongest multi-talented influence is Jennifer Lopez. “She sings, dances and acts. She’s a great creative role model for me – I know that it is possible to use all of my talents.”

It wasn’t long before Roxanne became an opening act for major touring artists performing in Florida. Her amazing stage presence and no-fear personality found her performing before crowds of more than 15,000 people. Roxanne has opened for acts like Diamond Rio, Kenny Rogers, Lee Greenwood and Wynonna. “I have learned so much from all these people. I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing,” says Roxanne. Soon after, she was headlining her own show in St. Augustine, Florida with a packed venue of over 26,000 fans.

Last summer, CAA (Creative Artist Agency) invited Roxanne to open for American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson on her summer 2003 mini-tour. With just two weeks notice, Roxanne stepped up to the plate. Her 30-minute set consisted of all original material — half of which she co-wrote. Roxanne worked with her choreographer and created a high-energy show that brought nightly crowds of up to 14,000 people to their feet. No small task for any artist...but exceptional for a 14-year-old newcomer. Each night, Roxanne spent an average of two hours signing autographs at the merchandise table — her mass appeal was overwhelming.

This Spring, Roxanne began recording a new project in Los Angeles with famed songwriter/producer Damon Sharpe (Jennifer Lopez, Monica, Anastasia, Genuwine, Kelly Rowland, Chicago soundtrack)...the first three tracks are included in this package. The creative synergy between Roxanne and Damon has been great and the pair plan to co-write for the next round of recordings.

Additionally, Roxanne has written and recorded at Sony Music in Stockholm with the top writer/producer team Jany & Barrén (Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child, Vanessa Amorosi, Heather Nova, Westlife, Popstar television show). Add to that time spent in Nashville writing and recording with many other prominent writers and producers and you have a very well-rounded artist at the age of 15. Roxanne is a consummate professional and a powerhouse entertainer with a career poised for enormous success.

She is extremely talented on many levels, especially for a girl of 14 years. During the Summer 2003 Kelly Clarkson tour, she proved that audiences love her catchy pop music and amazing dance skills as noted by her staggering merchandise sales. She has the charisma, talent and the potential for mass appeal in the teen-pop world.
