Biography

"Roxy Blue and the Handful is a local San Diego band that fuses jazz, blues, hip-hop and rock n’ roll to create one heck of a ride for their live performances. From spilling drinks and shedding clothes, to silencing a room for a soulful ballad, every show is a journey that will leave you with stories to tell the grandkids, when they're old enough to hear about that kind of stuff."
Roxy Blue and the Handful have been performing in San Diego since March 2007. This fusion band is heavily influenced by the Jazz standards of the 20's, 30's and 40's, Soul and Blues of the 60's and 70's, and Rock and Hip Hop of the 80's and 90's. Roxy Blue's vocals have been said to sound like "Billie Holliday dipped in Lauryn Hill with a Janice Joplin filling".
