Roy David Scott

BandCountry

Hard driving country.

Biography

Roy David Scott played their first full country show at the Eagles Hall in Sparta, Michigan to a crowd of 30 people. Two months later they were opening for Chris Cagle to 900 screaming fans on the Intersection Stage in Grand Rapids, Michigan. That was immediately followed by the Sandy Corley Memorial Run where they opened to a crowd of more than five thousand. Since then Roy David Scott hasn’t looked back.

In 2008 they released their first single, “County Line,” followed by “Make Mine Whiskey,” with both being featured on Clear Channel’s B-93. Soon thereafter they made it into the final four in Kenny Chesney’s “Big Star Contest” and played for Kenny’s street party outside the Van Andel Arena to a crowd of thousands before the show.

2009 has been no different; they kicked off the year in the studio and on May 9 released their first CD, “County Line”. From “Beer League” telling the story of the band’s origins, to Chris Ledoux’s “Hooked on an 8 Second Ride,” this album shows a wide variety of influences and range. So what does the future hold for Roy David Scott? “It’s all about the music and fans! We all love what we do, and it just keeps getting better. No matter where we are, it still surprises us how far people will come to see the band. All we can do is put everything we have into it and enjoy the ride. We are already working on our next album and have plans to start making our way south to the Mecca of county music. All we can hope to do is have fun and meet some new friends on the way.”

All or None

Written By: Aaron Roy

All or none
by Aaron Roy 2008
Verse 1

As a kid you could find me in my tree fort standing guard

With all those bumps and bruises that come from playin so dang hard

Who new that book of matches would set the whole back field on fire

You think the wippin I got would have left me feeling inspired

Chorus

But I was free and I was young

Yeah I caught a lot of hell for the things I’ve said and done

When your free and when your young

Your just living life likes it’s either all or none

Verse 2

I was a little on the wilder side throughout my teenage years

We would sneak out late at night we had nothing to fear

Smoking Marlboro cigarettes and drinkin half warm beer

Dad didn’t think I’d make it, but mom’s prayers they kept me here

Chorus

Cuz I was free and I was young

I caught a lot of hell for the things I’ve said and done

But when you’re free and when your young

Your just living life likes it’s either all or none

Solo

Bridge

And time has turned the tables

I guess its now my turn

To watch my kids age me

As they live and learn

Chorus

Cuz they are free and they are young

And they’ve caught a lot of hell for the things they’ve said and done

But when you’re free and when your young

Your just living life likes it’s either all or none

And I’m still free and I’m still young

I caught a lot of hell for the things I’ve said and done

But when you’re free and when you’re young

Your just livin life likes it’s either all or none

You got to live your life like its either all or none

I’m still livin live like it’s either all or none

Make Mine Whiskey

Work all day in the shadows of my sin
My head is pounding but my; my shift is about to end
I run down to the local well so I can ease my troubled mind
When that bartender sets them up I can leave my day behind

Chorus:
So make mine whiskey
A double shot
Yeah make mine whiskey
Give me all that you got
When I’m honey Tonkin
With Skynard and Jones
Just make mine whiskey
And I’m never alone

Slowly take a drag from my last cigarette
Sittin with a girl whose name I don’t know yet
Then when I ask her now honey what’s is gona be
I just sit back and smile when she says make mine whiskey

Chorus:

Searching for my keys as I slip out the door
Everything’s still blurry from the night before
I can’t seem to remember how the hell I got to hear
Hey Scottie next time I think were gona stick to beer

Chorus:

Make Mine Whiskey
