"Roy Stewart and Thick as Thieves – Col. Tamar Alexia Fleishman"

North Carolina’s Roy Stewart counts among his influences Merle Haggard and the Allman Bros. His band is certainly made up of some competent pickers, which does recall the glory days of Classic Country. Roy’s voice reminds me of a young Travis Tritt. You can hear this in his song, “Carolina Calling”. “You Can’t Win Them All” is well orchestrated, has a dark story-telling quality of Alan Jackson or Desperado-era Eagles.

Someones Lovin My Baby
You Can't Win em' All

The most common asked question I get is, "What kind of music do ya'll play?" My most common answer is anything from Merle to Motown, Skynyrd to Skaggs, depends on the room. I am a second generation musician and over the years I've gained recogniton as an accomplished guitarist with many NC and Southeastern acts. I have opened up shows for Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Blake Sheldon, Deanna Carter, Emerson Drive, and the Derailers. I have finally assembled a powerhouse band that is capable of tapping into my broad spectrum of influences. Thick as Thieves is the name of my band and they are all good ole' country boys who have paid their dues in the honky tonk scene. Each individual brings a taste of individuality to the band but we all have one sound in mind country rock and soul.
