Fueled with a pack of raw talented individuals, R.S.S. has captured something magically with their melodious feel good EP entitled Rapid Decay - THE EP. What will attract you to this EP is the diversity of songs on Rapid Decay - THE EP. From catchy tunes like Rapid Decay to an irresistible melody like Can't Explain, when one begins to listen to each of the tracks, he/she will not be disappointed.
One of the biggest appeals to this EP is the vocals of Rob who will instantly have you hooked. He has a vocal range that is an added welcome to each of the tracks on the EP. Follow by the talents of the other members of the group, you have an instant winner. At its core, R.S.S. is comprised of 3 high schoolers: Konstantine and Rob (each 17) and Rob's sister Tanner (14). Recently R.S.S. added two new members to the lineup (post-Riverbend) including Justin Land (Bass) and Drew Streip (Lead guitar). Something clicked. After Rob's six years of searching for the right talent, R.S.S. headed into the studio to record their debut EP (now available on SonicBids and Myspace. Artist website www.rssband.com is currently under construction).
R.S.S. has come a long way since the Fall of 2007. From opening for the Black Crowes on the opening day of RiverBend 2008 to recording our first fully produced EP in October 2008.
Since 2007, the band has seen many changes in the lineup, but the solid members, Rob and Tanner, brother and sister, are going strong with new members Konstantine, Drew, and Justin. "Everyone has come together in our new lineup, and R.S.S has been totally redefined," says Rob.
The band is on a quest to branch out beyond Chattanooga, TN looking at any and all opportunities to play live across the country. Please contact RSS for demo information and booking- whoisrss@gmail.com
Members:
Rob Peterson (Guitar/Vocals):
Rob's always been told to turn his music down. Obsessed with all forms of music and all instruments- seriously. Rob has been playing in bands since age 12, and as the songwriter, and overall leader of R.S.S., he has brought together the current talent and has created a synergy with his band-mates.
Tanner Peterson (Vocals/Perc.):
Tanner is the youngest member of R.S.S, playing since she was 12 as the drummer and vocalist. Through the progression of the band, Tanner has become integral through her incredible vocals and misc. percussion, leaving the drum throne to Konstantine Vlasis in early 2008. She can really get the crowd going with her incredible pipes and enthusiasm.
Justin Land (Bass):
Justin Land grew up in Soddy Daisy, TN. He grew up watching his father who ran a local recording studio and performed in various live acts. Justin joined his father's ranks at a young age, and has stage experience since age 14. As the oldest member of the band at 22, he can slap and pluck the bass giving R.S.S. a vital and powerful bass driven sound.
Konstantine Vlasis (Drums):
A native of Chattanooga, Konstantine has been playing the drums since age 10. His drum skills are those of someone much older than 17; He has been a part of the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. Konstantine Vlasis is one of the most renown percussionists in the area. He is now sometimes seen bungee -jumping off walnut street bridge, or tearing it up on the drumset with the rock band RSS!
Drew Streip (Lead Guitar):
Drew Streip has played guitar and saxophone for nearly a decade. He has performed with many bands, and is currently studying jazz saxophone at UT-Knoxville where he is a junior studying Journalism and Electronic Media. R.S.S. acquired Drew's skill in the Summer of '08 by a fateful crossing of paths. When not jamming, Drew is training for his first Ironman triathlon in 2010.
