Biography

In high school, Rich formed a vocal group consisting of five guys including his brother Rod. They went by the group name “Untamed”. Rich formed a friendship with Rob through their common interest of track and field. But, it was Rod who convinced him to join the school’s chorus, and later, added him to the vocal group. He proved to be a great addition in assisting the harmonious, signature sound which later defined “R-Styl”. “Untamed” eventually went their separate ways, but Rich, Rod, and Rob stayed together as a group with the realization of a common goal.

The group name evolved to “R-Styl”. The name came to Rob in a dream which he believed was through divine intervention. It is derived from “Our Style”. Each member’s first name begins with the initial “R”, and the uniquely spelled “Styl” describes their creative approach to music.

Their artistry has evolved from raw street corner a cappella harmonies to a dynamic stage show consisting of electrifying choreography, guitars, keys, edgy rap lyrics, and smooth, yet powerful vocals. They have a distinctive writing style and produce their own music which rounds out their musicianship.
