Rubber Gypsy

Pirates, palm trees, rum, islands, boats….there's a general theme here for the those that like to stick their toes in the sand and dream. Overall, this is a story-telling band w/ roots in classic rock and roll. Songs based on pirate lore and actual characters are mixed w/ general piracy and nautical themes. Cover songs for the most part cover the same theme and are loosely based on rivers or the ocean. Influences include a wide range from Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Traffic to the newer, old-time feels of Mumford and Sons. The band does collaborate on many ideas however. Currently there is one main songwriter surrounded by stellar musicians. Overall, the band loves dynamics such as the swell of a transition or the end of a song that stops on a dime. Rubber Gypsy is a story-telling group that will take you on many different adventures and whet your appetite for rum, sun and fun.
