Rubik is a band from Monterrey, Mexico, that starts in early 2003, and is conformed by Angie (vocals), Zepol (Bass guitar), Tom (guitar and vocals), Gera (Lead Guitar) and Manuel (Drums).
Each one of them aport its particular influences to Rubik's music; from brit-pop, grounge, R&B, and even latin rythms as bossanova.
Rubik has had interviews in most of TV and radio rock shows in Monterrey, such as: "Escenario" (Radio, D99), "Los Manriquez" (Radio, D99), "Movimiento Zero" (TV, Multimedios), "Volumen 3" (TV, Multimedios); and other shows un the U.S., such as "Alternative Scream" (Houston, TX), Vaca Roja (Austin, TX for Austinvida.com and gohispano.com).
In 2008 Rubik released their first Oficcial EP, called "Abril". Thanks to this material, Rubik has played in big Festivals in Monterrey such as "Festival Santa Lucia", "Feria del Bicentenario", and one festival on the South Padre Island, the "Yuju Fest"; as well booking shows on cities in Mexico as Torreon, Queretaro, Mexico City, and U.S. cities as Austin, Houston, South Padre Island, and Dallas TX.
Within all those years Rubik has played along with bands as "El Otro Yo" (Argentina), "Aiken" (Chile), "Inspector" (Monterrey, MX), "Genitallica" (Monterrey, MX), "Canseco" (Tijuana, MX), Volován (Monterrey, MX), "QBO" (Mexico City), "Aleks Sintek" (Mexico City), "Zoé" (Mexico City), Kalúa (Austin, TX), "Arthur Yoria" (Austin, TX), "Los Bad Apples" (Austin, TX), among others.
For the first quarter of 2011, Rubik will release its first LP (which is in post-production).
