Saskatchewan native, Rubiks, has dropped his third instalment of his Rubiks Collection called VOLUM3: Push Play #PushItRealGood, featuring his successful single, 'Uh-Oh'.

The project starts off with the hard hitting track, 'Lay Down' (produced by Rich Kidd), which has the rapper boasting about being so ill that he should be stuck in a hospital. This sets the tone for the the rest of the project, as he showcases his lyrical prowess. It is definitely worth the listen.

It features production by Rich Kidd, Johnny Keys, Troy K., Merky Waters and Andrew Koschinsky aka AK.

So if you want a Summer album to vibe to, get hype to, and nod your head to, amongst some other things, this is definitely the album to cop. Rubiks' VOLUM3: Push Play #PushItRealGood is a hidden gem amongst a plethora of mainstream albums that rarely give the underdog a chance to shine.

Video Premiere: Rubiks Uh Oh (Prod. Rich Kidd)

To start out his new year, and to round out 2014, Saskatchewan artist Rubiks has liberated a Toronto-shot video off his album ‘VOLUM3: Push Play #PushItRealGood’ for the single, “Uh-Oh”. While he enlisted producer Rich Kidd to create a grainy industrial-strong instrumental for the project’s lead single, he calls on director Elliot Clancy-Osberg and Kareem King to bring this visual to life. Shot in the downtown core of the city, Rubiks shines a light on the mechanics of his mind, including his involvement with street artists, his proud cultural heritage and a unique approach to re-introducing himself to the world through an iconic haircut. - OVO Boi-1da.net

Bio

Don’t Sweat the Technique. Mecca and the Soul Brother. The Chronic. 1992 brought a steady bank of classics to hip-hop’s golden era. Aside from timeless joints by pioneers of the game, 1992 marked the birth of who would soon be known as a pioneer in his own right, a pioneer of hip-hop in the Prairies: Rubiks. Born on April 30th in the ever-growing city of Regina, Saskatchewan, Rubiks spent his free time online discovering the newest and hottest in rap. A pastime that soon became a passion, Rubiks was known for his extensive music knowledge and infectious personality. A strong personal and professional network coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit and all-too-apparent musicality… enter Rubiks. Unearthed at the impressionable age of sixteen, emcee Rubiks gained a mass following in high school, which quickly spread across the city.

Fast-forward to present day, six years and three releases later, 22-year-old Rubiks has shared the province’s biggest stages with some of the world’s biggest names in hip-hop: Andre Nickatina, Swollen Members, Bun B., Raekwon, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Waka Flocka Flame and Big Sean, to name a few - it’s safe to say the come up has begun. From a small-town rapper to a name spreading from coast to coast, Rubiks has hyped crowds with his addictive anthems at numerous showcases such as SaskMusic, local festivals and jam-packed concerts. Featured in heavyweight hip-hop publications such as HipHopCanada, Rubiks continues to garner attention across the country as western Canada’s force to reckon with. Knowing fair and well that great success takes time,

Rubiks is creeping on the come up while the rest play catch up.
