Music has been a passion for Ru Breau for as long as she can remember. Her journey into creating music began in childhood and has continued through the twists and turns of life. Even without words, music became and remains a crucial way for her to express the deep things in her heart both those she understands, and those she doesn't.
College became the fertile soil of change in Ru's life, especially during her freshman year. For the first time she understood faith, life, and God in internal terms rather than in external ones. Instead of God being a distant entity, He became close and touchable and this revelation changed the course of her life.
Since embarking on her journey of faith, Ru has seen her music evolve into an expression of her view of the world through the lens of faith. In addition to leading worship for church services and women's retreats she has performed her original songs at concerts, coffee houses and music festivals. As she has grown and matured as a songwriter many of the songs she has written have reflected the struggles and complexities of being a child of God. She feels called to share the realities of struggling with life as truthfully as possible, through the eyes of faith and with the maturity of heart that wrestles with the hard things in life while holding on to God.
