Ruby Antolin

Ruby was born in Seattle, Washington on August 3rd 1986. When he was two years old he moved with his family to Tokyo, Japan, where they remained for eight and a half years. At the age of four, Ruby began playing the violin through the Suzuki Violin Method in Tokyo, then switched to piano at the age of six. He soon shifted his focus from playing instruments to singing. His mother would recall memories of his childhood saying, “while riding our bikes through the neighborhood streets of Tokyo, Ruby would pretend to sing opera as loud as he could.” He picked up the guitar at the age of 14 and began teaching himself how to play it. A couple of years later he returned to the piano and began to play more seriously. Both parents are musicians/music teachers with music degrees from the University of Washington. Surrounded by all types of music all his life, it was only a matter of time before he began to create music and come to his own.

In the summer of 2008 Ruby traveled to Israel as a camp counselor to work with children and find inspiration. Upon returning to the United States, he devoted himself completely to launching his music career. He got his first show performing at an event at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington on October 7th 2008. Six days after his first show, his father Bob Antolin introduced him to Alex Kajumulo. After a nerve racking on-the-spot audition, Alex gave him his first assignment, the “Global Warming” song which is now being played around the world. With Alex as his producer and collaborator, Ruby has been featured in three albums singing, writing and co-writing with Alex. The CD’s are “Searching for Love,” “I’m Cool Like That,” and “Bushman Vision.”
