"New Breed Album Review"

"Sounds like [Ruby Hill] has been around forever and the album just kicks right into gear as if they haven’t missed a beat...Not many sophomore albums start off with so much confidence and power. [Ruby Hill's} guitar riffs will remind you of some of the best of the DMB, and solid lyrics and songwriting. As their bio states, they have been gigging for quite a while and it shows in the musicianship. [Ruby Hill} is poised for greatness and I am so glad I was able to see them when they were a local band...this band is just getting started."

Bio

Ruby Hill formed in 2007 when vocalist/guitarist Matt Brown and bassist Jacob Battan teamed up to begin making music. After the additions of guitarist Jordan Clark and drummer Marc Jones, the project evolved into what is now Ruby Hill.

Ruby Hill’s music is a seamless blend of Rock and Pop with Soulful vocals, Bluesy guitar licks, and Funky rhythm sections. The group draws it’s numerous influences from artists like The Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaugh, Jimi Hendrix, and contemporary artists such as Coldplay, Dave Matthews, and John Mayer.

The group has played relentlessly around the Portland area since it’s formation, and has made frequent visits to the Seattle area. Both cities have received the band well and have shown their support by an ever growing audience at their concerts and shows.

In 2008 Ruby Hill released their first EP entitled “Just A Taste” . The album sold well, both online and at shows, and it’s title track received radio play and was featured on KINK FM’s 2009 local music compilation disc.

On December 3rd, 2009 the band released it’s second album, “New Breed”. Ruby Hill plans to take their first west coast tour to support their newly released album in the summer of 2010.
