"Always energetic and saucy ... an underrated national treasure." -- Mark Jordan - Memphis Commercial Appeal

"A down-home diva (with) a sultry, uptown torch singer hiding inside." -- Bill Ellis - Memphis Commercial Appeal

"The music was fantastic. You made the show -- as always!" -- Virginia Steele - West Clinic

Bio

She's the undisputed Queen of Beale Street, a Memphis legend who has taken the Delta blues and her powerful, emotional, unforgettable voice worldwide. When she's in Memphis, she's usually holding court at B.B. King's, the epicenter of nightclub entertainment in the Mid-South. When she's out of town, she might be singing at the White House, or at a renowned jazz club in Switzerland, or on a luxury cruise in Asia.

She's Ruby Wilson, one of the most dynamic and soulful entertainers you will ever see -- and one of the most versatile, too. From a high-energy party song like "Mustang Sally" to a tender ballad like "At Last" to a sexy romp like "Fever," the lady can sing it all. With a first-rate band and the charisma that has charmed thousands around the world, Ruby Wilson turns mere parties into EVENTS.

Ruby has recorded over 10 albums and performed with such stars as B.B. King, Ray Charles, Robert Goulet, The Four Tops, Jerry Butler, Willie Nelson, Isaac Hayes, and many more. She's also an accomplished actress, with roles in Cookie's Fortune, The People vs. Larry Flynt, The Chamber, The Client, and The Firm. Her 2005 album, "Show You a Good Time," received national acclaim and soared up the blues charts, and she has a prominent part in the forthcoming film Black Snake Moan, starring Samuel L. Jackson and Apetha Merkerson. Some of Ruby's recent awards and honors include
   • the Memphis Sound Award from the Blues Ball for Best Entertainer 2005-06
   • a Supporter's Award from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
   • the Authentic Beale Street Musician Award from the Beale Street Merchant's Association
   • pace car driver for the Komen Race for the Cure in Memphis, 2005
   • appointed to the Memphis-Shelby County Film & Tape Commission

Her versatile show can include a dynamic, showy R&B band with multiple horns and back-up singers, or a simple trio for jazz and blues standards. She can also work as a solo artist.

Want true Memphis at your next event? Book Ruby Wilson, because she is the Queen.
