Biography

Q. What's the name of your band?
RudeBeats

Q. What's the origin of that name?
Room Beats N Jams was a band that originally started with me, Ted, and a wicked bass player named Kevin Este.
That lasted for a while and it was a great musical experience but eventually it dissolved.

Q. Have you changed the band's name before?
Yes.

Q. Please list the name, age, school, and respective instrument of each band member.
George Georgaros; Age: 38; Instrument: guitar.

Q. What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
We play funk - rock – blues, with a hint of Greek.

Q. Who are your major influences?
Major influences are Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, & Greek blues.

Q. How long have you all known each other?
We’ve known each other for over 20 years.

Q. How did you meet?
I met Allan when I was 13 years old because we lived in the same neighborhood.
About 2 years later, I met Dennis at a talent show where both our bands played.

Q. When did you form your band?
RudeBeats is about 13 years old.

Q. What inspired you to make music together?
My brother and I have great chemistry – we complete each other musically. Playing with him is natural.
Dennis had the right attitude, the right background and he quickly became a part of that chemistry.
Allan, as our mutual friend, had always been jamming with us, until one day we made
him an official band member.

Q. Do you have a record label?
Not yet.

Q. Are you a member of any music organizations?
Yeah, the RudeBeats army. LOL

Q. What can you tell me about your instruments?
(i.e., Are you subject to brand loyalty or will you play with whatever's available? )
I’m a Gibson man, although I do like the sound of Strats.
Of course, I’ve been playing on the same guitar for almost 20 years. What can I say? It’s a love affair.

Q. What made you choose the instruments you have now?

Q. Where have you performed?
To date, our gigs are mostly in and around Montreal.

Q. What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
Favorite venues include places with a nice big stage, big speakers,& a big sound.
Worst venues, poutine joints! LOL

Q. Do you have any upcoming shows?
No.

Q. Which songs do you perform most frequently?

Q. Do you ever play any covers?
No.

Q. Do you have a set play list?
Not really.

Q. Who writes your songs?
Our leader, George Georgaros.

Q. What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs?
Faith, love and justice, among others.

Q. Do you think these topics will change over time?
No. The lyrics have matured but the theme has always stayed the same.

Q. Could you briefly describe the music-making process?
Usually, the beat & bass come to mind first and the guitar comes second. Most often it’s a beat-box thing,
a process that’s hard to put into words. Of course, I write with my guitar.

Q. What is a typical RudeBeats rehearsal generally like?
Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
Rehearsals are, in a word, religious. Saturday night jams have been on for almost 20 years, to the detriment
of my marriage. LOL… Sometimes we work but often we improvise and let the music groove in different
directions. We always record the jams and we often release them for our friends and supporters.

Q. How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?
It’s matured, become tighter.

Q. What has been your biggest challenge as a band?
Getting the right sound has always been our biggest challenge.

Q. Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Recently, yes, thanks to my man Jesse Jaeo.

Q. What's your ultimate direction for your band?
We look forward to traveling, much more recording, and opportunities to make music and to do business.
Q. Are you seeking fame and fortune?
No. We always put the music first.

Q. What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?
Persevere. You have to commit to a band like any other relationship.

Q. How can fans-to-be gain access to your music?
http://www.rudebeats514@bandcamp.com

Q. Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?
http://www.rudebeats514@bandcamp.com

Q. Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support?
First and foremost, God. Without His Grace, nothing is possible.
Secondly, our wives and kids for enduring (Saturday night jams).
Our friends and supporters for your encouragement and honesty.
Last but not least, our parents for teaching me that anything is possible
through hard work and sacrifice.

(Verse)
You know we're grooving to the beat of a drum
Baby as one
You know we're grooving to the beat of a drum
Baby as one
Well everything has gotta be on the one
Jammin on the ONE….ONE
Well everything has gotta be on the one
Jammin on the ONE….ONE

(Chorus)
Yea, we're marchin' in the streets
AS ONE….AS ONE
There's no need to be discreet
AS ONE….AS ONE
Yea, we're burnin' with desire
AS ONE….AS ONE
Where there is no other love…..

Promised Land

Written By: George Georgaros

Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land
Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land

Close your eyes and visualize
a place where we all live together
where I'm not yours and you're not mine
Baby now we are each other

Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land
Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land

Interlude

So baby won't you come with me
and I'll show you how we can be free (yea)
Oh now 'cause I can see
for miles and miles and miles around me

Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land
Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land
Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land
Take my hand
I wanna take you to the promised land

New Frontier

Written By: George Georgaros

Preacher preacher preachin'
Spreading all these lies
made up of his own ignorance
I said and shit he fantasized, yea

We got to break our bondage
a bondage with past errors
And focus on the present
and be aware of all the dangers

Groovin'….Movin'
Groovin…..Movin' towards a new frontier
Groovin'….Movin'
Groovin…..Movin' towards a new frontier

Different different maybe
the color of our skin
But equal is the colour (child)
I say the color of our sin (yea yea yea)

I tell you now racism
wreaks of nothing but fear
leaning on myths noe chile
I tell you myths now that we hear (no no no)

Groovin'….Movin'
Groovin…..Movin' towards a new frontier
Groovin'….Movin'
Groovin…..Movin' towards a new frontier
Groovin'….Movin'
Groovin…..Movin' towards a new frontier
Groovin'….Movin'
Groovin…..Movin' towards a new frontier

I wanna dance
and feel a little romance
You got me flipping' babe

so come on sugar let me rescue your soul

Life is too short, let's celebrate
(cherish the simple things)
Heaven is not too far away
(paradise is within)

Heaven is not too far away
(paradise is within)
