"Rudeboy Ruger Can’t Be Washed on New ‘DRY CLEAN ONLY.’ EP"

Rudeboy Ruger, Hartford, CT born rapper, unleashes his new EP: ‘DRY CLEAN ONLY.’ Now based in NYC, Ruger diligently spent most of 2018 gearing up for this release. Ruger is recognized for his dexterous bars and diverse content. However, ‘DRY CLEAN ONLY.’ feels like a side of Ruger we’ve yet to hear.

The EP is five tracks long clocking in at 13 minutes to listen in its entirety. Even so, Ruger created a full bodied experience. This caliber of work speaks to his ability to consistently rise to the occasion and challenge himself. That adaptability translates to his creative vision as a whole.

His musical inspirations include Max B, Vybz Kartel and Jay-Z, demonstrating the variety in which he is rooted. ‘DRY CLEAN ONLY.’ is more than an introduction to Ruger and his music. It’s a mosaic made up of his individual styles and exhibit his overall creativity.

“MILLIONS” is the lead single from the EP accompanied by a video that dropped Mar. 4th. Ruger excels in maintaining his individuality while acclimating himself to today’s popular sounds. Producer, J-Indigo laid a track with car-shaking bass, sharp snares and an eerie melody fit for Ruger to attack. ‘DRY CLEAN ONLY.’ ends on a note as equally strong as it begins. “MAVERICK” establishes space for a subtler mood but preserves the momentum the previous tracks built. Ruger carries his melodies with ease and still retains lyrical dexterity.

It’s apparent in presentation and sound that Ruger’s efforts are precise. The continuity of the EP is an extension of himself as an artist. His statement is simple: he’s unlike the rest. - Ashley Raymond

"Connecticut's own Rudeboy Ruger drops off a lyrical banger with his new striking single, "Millions""

Looking at the scope of Connecticut and their talent base, it’s one of the most promising in the Northeast region. Having a field of talent that continues to grow and flourish, it’s only going to be more stars that’s going to come out of the state and Rudeboy Ruger looks like one of those acts that’s aiming to make a big splash going into 2019.

Making his way on the pages of Modern Life, he gets completely in his bag with his new single, “Millions”. The high-energy single is a new lyrical tirade that shows Ruger’s talent when it comes to how he can engage listeners but also deliver some hard lines at the same time. It’s something you def don’t want to miss out on for sure. - Greg Harris

Nestled
between two major metro areas (Boston and New York City), Connecticut
has yet to see a breakout star to model a blueprint of success after. Instead
many of our favorite artists who we love have gotten their start in the
Connecticut circuit ( e.g. French Montana, Young M.A).
For Rudeboy Ruger, inspiration rolled in from all directions. His favorite
artist is Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel and his 'Rude Boy' designation
is a testament to his Caribbean background and his native Hartford, a
city with a heavy West Indian influence.
Drawing inspiration from other artists such as Jay-Z, Lil
Wayne and a slew of others, Ruger blends
these influences with a touch of his own DNA to create a style unique
to him.
