Ruffa migrated to the USA with his family. His father attended Berkelee School of Music in Boston, MA. there he studied music. Ruffa has been honing his vocal and production skills over the years and that has made him the lyrically potent MC and top shelf producer that he is today.

Ruffa has won 3 Boston Caribbean awards for best band, record of the year and best new artist of the year. Ruffa's first major release independently was "Like a Gangsta" which sold 50, 000 copies in one week and became an international smash hit. "Like a Gangsta" the Hip Hop Reggae anthem created a major buzz which gained the attention of MCA, Sony, Jive and Epic record executives. Hip Hop Reggae star Ruffa flew out to New York city and met with Hank Shocklee producer extroadnaire for Public Enemy (The Bomb Squad) who signed Ruffa immeadiately on the spot to MCA and gave him full creative control as executive producer and producer on his first major release "Diamond in the Ruff", unheard of in the music game, it was an astronomical deal. Ruffa was just 18 years old when he got signed to MCA Records.

Hip Hop Reggae was at the forefront in the music industry and was receiving constant radio airplay nationally. Mad Lion, Ini Kamoze and Ruffa three of Hip Hop Reggae trailblazers were tearing up the charts. Ruffa's first single "Dont u Worry/Representing" Feat. Kool G Rap and Tasha Holiday charted on the Billboard top hip hop singles chart at number 8 and peaked at number 3. Jay Z, Outkast and 2Pac 's Digital Underground's Shock G opened up for Ruffa on his album promotional tour at the San Antonio Arena to a crowds of over 60, 000 fans. Due to label executive changes and down sizing at MCA Ruffa decided to focus his talent on music production.

He went on to produce and did features with some of today's platinum selling artists; such MC's like Dr Dre, Nortorious BIG, Method Man, Usher, Teddy Riley, Richie Rich, Cappadonna, Tasha Holiday, Case to name a few. Ruffa toured with Jodeci, Mary J Blyge, Johnny Gill, and Ol' Dirty Barstard. He also toured over-seas and completed a 40 city US tour with Sony Ying and the Yang tour. He opened up for G-Unit, and Bob Marley's backing band The Wailers, Ruffa also did a tribute to Janet Jackson.

Being a person of perfection like his mentor Quincy Jones Ruffa has put together with the help of God the amazing and second to none new album (CD) entitled "2 Pennies and a Dream" on his independent imprint Tailor Made Entertainment. . With greats like Dr Dre saying "Ruffa is the bonifide superstar of the future," the sky is the limit for this young genius...WELCOME TO THE FUTURE. Ruffa is a bankable artist with bankable hits, trying to find a home (Record Company) and a home to find him. He's got the whole world shaking...Ear to the street...Hip Hop Reggae is in his DNA. And as his personal savior Jesus Christ says "IT IS FINISH"
