Ruffian Royale

Created by longtime friends (St. Arnaud & Casavant), Ruffian Royale stems from the early roots of growing up in the North America's #1 ski resort, Whistler, British Columbia, the party town of Canada. Having played music together in various forms for nearly a decade, in the spring of 2008, St. Arnaud and Casavant reconnected their musical kinship and created what is now know as Ruffian Royale. Cooped up in there home studio, with the addition of some great musical collaborations, the outcome was Juniper Flowers Vol. 1, a soundtrack for the summer at its finest. The duo approach their songwriting process with a keen ear for melody and production, leaving the results vividly rendered. With influences ranging across the board from early rock, roots/ reggae, rocksteady and indi, Ruffian Royale indeed captures the pure essence of music. Having assembled a live band, with the addition of Mike Paprocki on the bass, and Joe Watts on the drums, Ruffian showcased their live renditions of Juniper Flowers over 2008, including a headline spot at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival. In February 2009 Ruffian escaped to Port Ludlow, Washington, and began production of their sophomore record entitle "Hardest of the Hard". Recorded in various locations over 6 months, the record is scheduled to be released in January 2010. With a more calculated approach to songwriting, and an evolution in the production side, "Hardest of the Hard" stays true to there style and is sure to attract a whole new range of fans.
