ANNA WATERFIELD, 17 The Chameleon Club in downtown Lancaster was packed on Sept. 15 to hear the very popular alternative rock band Jimmie's Chicken Shack, along with the other lesser-known bands World Famous Nobodies, Render and Rufus J. Fisk.
Rufus J. Fisk is an up-and-coming local band with what seems to be a lot of potential. Its two original members, Dayne Frederick and A.J. Rufus J Fisk is Lyrical Funk Rock for the masses. Funky Danceable Grooves laced with high flying guitars and unforgettable lyrical prose. In one RJF set you will hear the sounds of Hip-hop, Funk, Rock, Reggae, R&B, Blues, and Soul. Blended together in a unique way to create a unique sound your feet will have to follow and your memory won't soon forget! We are a 4 piece, self-dubbed Lyrical/Funk/Rock band hailing from Lancaster Pennsylvania. We were officially formed in the tail end of 2007 and are dedicated to creating, preforming, and recording fresh original music that affects people. Whether that means it makes you happy, sad, or even mad. Whether it makes you dance, laugh, cry, or wonder what the heck is going on. The ability to make another person feel something is the musicians greatest gift and this makes us feel blessed every time we pick up our instruments. In our year and a half together we have written over 30 original songs and played over 40 shows with no label support. Our 14 track debut album entitled “Escapades on Borrowed Time” will be released March 14th at the Chameleon Club on Deeply Rooted Records LLC. an indie Label of our own creation.
