Bio

Ruins Way delivers a pop/rock feast of finely crafted songs in a manner not only believable but undeniably satisfying to the listener. With a broad pallet of subject matter covering a scope of emotions and experiences, these are no ordinary pop songs. On their upcoming EP ‘Devils and Angels’, songwriter/vocalist and guitarist Rob Mestric has dragged the skeletons out of the closet and dressed them up to play. “I’m quite often drawn to darker subject matters in lyrics but I’m such a sucker for a good hook and some rocking guitar,” says Rob. Rocking guitar indeed. The band focuses on tight arrangements but the vocal hooks and guitars are certainly served in heaped portions.

Bass player Brian Crowe doesn’t feel left out either when it comes flaunting his abilities. “I love that I can play for the songs yet still kick it in the ass when needed”. Drummer Brett Fenech and keyboardist Leemarie Cavanagh round out the combo in respectively pounding and uplifting fashion, both committed to bringing out the best in themselves and the songs.

Ruins Way’s debut EP ‘Devils and Angels’ was mixed by award winning engineer Tony Wall (Rose Tattoo/Inxs) at Sydney’s Studio 301 and mastered by 301’s Steve Smart. “It was such pleasure to work with Tony on this project and his mixes are magic. Steve also did a great job mastering the record,” says Mestric.
