Bio

“We met each other playing in a church choir when we were younger. There is something electric about sharing your musicality with someone who understood your passion as much as you do. It’s our passion”

There’s more to a band than a group of people creating music. It’s a brotherhood and a family that grows and evolves together. RUN was formed from a brotherhood in Dartmouth, NS in 2010 with two brothers, Liam Cyr and Aidan Cyr, and their close friend, Joey Jesso. Their sound draws from the angst of love, conflict, loss, and sharing those emotions with their fans.

“We have always loved anthemic rock songs, and Queen was one of the best. The band performs with not to the audience and we’ve adopted that in our songwriting and our live performance.”

RUN went to Los Angeles to work with Grammy Award winning producer/engineer, Dave Way, to record their debut album in 2013. “Our time with Dave is always a master-class session. He has worked with so many great artists, including Michael Jackson, Pink, and Fiona Apple. We learned so much from him in the short time we were with him.” With Special guests including Dillon O’Brian, Darrell Leonard, and David Greenbaum, RUN spent 3 weeks writing and recording for their upcoming release in Los Angeles. “The city of angels never sleeps, so we kept it company as we wrote and recorded throughout the many nights, taking in the summer heat that would inspire the feral and lustful sound of the record.”

“Creating something from nothing is beautiful. When your idea becomes tangible, and leads to a connection with other people on an emotional level, it’s extremely rewarding. In a day and age where connection seems to be a chore, that personal relationship we gain with our audience is an unbelievable feeling

Judged by industry leaders and peers, RUN received the Juried Sound Recording grant from FACTOR in 2014, as well as the Bell Media Prize, which allowed them to relocate to Toronto, ON. They used those connections and opportunities to attend the renowned Artist Entrepreneur program at Coalition Music.

Toronto is the central hub of Canada so moving here was a no brainer. It means expanding our market, furthering our career, networking with peers, and having a home base that is central in todays music industry.”

With a Spring 2015 album release on the horizon, RUN sets their sights on the future, and everything it has to offer. “All roads lead to the same destination. We’re excited to see where this journey takes us, and we can’t wait to share the experiences with our fans; who have become our family.”

Watch the Sky.
