Runaway Norm: (ruhn-uh-wey nawrm) n. 1. Some social process that seems to have taken on a life of its own or is otherwise out of control. 2. Tygh’s dog.

Biography

What do you get when you mix 5 friends bored of their day jobs and hand them instruments? Well, for Nick, Tygh, Geoff, Matt, and Mike you get an energy cocktail served on acoustic rock. With an unreal chemistry on stage, Runaway Norm sounds like five guys who got grabbed out of a crowed and asked to play along at a Dave Matthews and Maroon 5 concert.

How did the band get their start? With a swift kick in the ass. After playing their first open mic, they were bombarded with supportive fans and show offers. They immediately formed their own management company and took their first step down the road to success. The rest speaks for itself.

With positive feedback feeding their sails, the boys decided to write 9 songs for a demo CD to help line up better gigs. It worked. By February 2006, they had enough money to self-produce their first album Under Cover From Daylight. Since its release in December of 2006, the album has consistently sold at live shows, CDbaby.com, and on iTunes.

Sunday Morning

Written By: © 2006. Music by M. Lavoie, G. Gillam, M. Yesenofski, T. Colton, Lyrics by N. Montgomery

Three years ago I was on the go
The world was mine like a puppet show
Where dreams were made from day to day
Young and crazy I had it made

Moving forward two one year
Would you listen to me my dear
The way that style and the way that you smile
Well, it takes me back to the days of wild now

Can you take me back now
Can you take me back now
Can you take me back to that Sunday morning

Spending time with carpet baggers
And Ill-pretenders and scallywaggers
Dragging me down making me the clown
Playing my tune to a silent crowd

I confess I made the mess
If you push stop, I'll push reset
Start then stop, make your body drop
Well, put me to sleep and then wake me up now

Can you take me back...

Heading back and back I go
Destination three years ago
Well hold my hand don't you understand
Guide me back with a steady hand
I confess I made the mess
If you push stop, I'll push reset
The world was mine like a puppet show
One, two, three, four here we go now

Can you take me back now?

Playground

Written By: © 2006. Music by M. Yesenofski, G. Gillam, T. Colton, M. Lavoie, Lyrics by N. Montgomery

I want to take a step inside your mind
I want to take a glance and see what I can find

I'm doing circles I'm so confused
I'll take a trip around the world I got nothing to loose
She's got me tripping

Start me up, jerk me down
I'm blinded
Start me up, jerk me down
Her heart is my temple, and her body is my playground

She's got me thirsty like a desert runs dry
Her love is ministry; she makes a dead man cry

She's got me crazy, I'm mad with desire
I'm haunted by her love; I'm trippin through her wires
She's got me tripping

Start me up…

Clean Slate

Written By: © 2005. Music by M. Lavoie, G. Gillam, T. Colton, Lyrics by N. Montgomery.

It's a brand new day
Get up and see the light
Get up my friend
The time is right

You've been waiting
Too long it's been now
We're getting older
It's time to get down

You've got a clean slate
No more wallowing
It all adds up in the end

Get up, Get up, Get up
Take a sad song and make it better
Get up, Get up, Get up
Times a passing it's getting later
Leave your face at the door
Cause the devil could be spying
Get busy living or, get busy dying.

This is the first day
Of the rest of your life
Yesterday
Was just a free pass

You've got a clean slate
It all adds up in the end

Get up....
