BandCountryBluegrass

Canada's ONLY 8 piece Trucker band, blending story telling, 3 part harmonies, and soloists including slide guitar, banjo, mandolin, and violin. High energy, and stage antics make RUN GMC a 'take-notice' act and one that not many compare to. This is country and bluegrass; we call CrabGrass.

Biography

Its a dark night, darker than most, and you head off to your local sip and swill for a bit of a 'forget my name' Friday, But tonight isn't like other nights...no not this night. The rusted out marquee outside this once fine establishment you call your second home reads "One Night Only...RUN GMC" You get to thinking..Who the F$%K is RUN GMC? So you head in through that same old black door covered in stickers of the other 2000 bands you never watched in this sinkhole of a bar. You throw a bandit in your lip and order a flat glass of Black Label.

Then they start...an 8 car musical pileup that leaves no survivors. RUN GMC IS Canada's only 8 piece original "Crabgrass" Trucker band. The band has just released its first EP called "2 Pickets to Tittsburgh" and has just come off the heels of a sold out Commodore Ballroom performance in Vancouver as well as Junofest 2009, and the World Ski and Snowboard Festival

You may see a lot of bands this year! But you won't forget RUN GMC!!!

Reminiscent of old country artists such as C.W. McCall, Red Sovine, and Johnny Cash, RUN GMC blends story telling, and 3 part harmony to create high energy country-bluegrass; CrabGrass.
Compared to jumping off the back of a moving pick-up truck with your pants around your ankles.

New Music magazine states, "It is the perfect blend of crap and don't bother."

Tongue in cheek, and full of attitude and stage presence makes RUN GMC a 'don't-miss-this-band' kind of band.......
Did we mention multi-lingual?

Lyrics

hillbilly bullshit

Written By: Run GMC

We were headin back
Doing 30 and a half
Fully packed and a solid 3 grand on the tack
But the thing about the road
Is sometimes you never know where it’ll take you

My minds made up and the choice is clear
I’m a finish this trip in second gear
It’s an all night drive and pray to keep one eye open

Well, we stopped at the Blue Star Memorial
An you know I don’t need a tutorial
on how to run my life or how to keep my fluids topped
One thing’s for sure we won’t get there fast
I got beaters and semi-trucks passin’ my ass
And the other sure thing besides taxes and death is,
We’ll make it!

Headin’ past Auburn, Kirkland, and Blaine
Any man with a big rig can feel my pain
We’re Sumas bound and runnin’ on ten gallons of luck

(Chorus)
Well, time, It’s standin’ still
Trying to get home,
Seems I never will.
I can’t explain the way I feel,
Got my eye on the gauge, a smoke, and both hands on the wheel.

Well, Don came up ask me if I was broke
I said, I’m broke both ways, and that was the joke
But when you’re broken down
the only missin’ from the problem is the answer.
Seen Isaqua, Lakeview, even parts of Bellview
Stopped in Centrallia, for some coffee and beef stew,
If my engine won’t run, at least there’ll be food in my gullet.

We were headin North on highway eleven,
Passin’ Chuckanuck Drive on to Bow and Edison,
State Patrol to my right think I’ll stop at the Iron Skillet.

Well, way back when, when the Earth was green and an engine ran clean,
If you know what I mean
Kids these days don’t know what it mean,
To be livin’!

(chorus)
Longview, Kelso, Chehalis, Tonino,
Lacy, Lynwood, Edmonds, Union Slough , and Toledo.
Everett, Snohamish, Puyallup to Enumclaw.
From Blaine down to Redman,
Packwood to Ashford,
Shelton to Oakville all the way down to Southbend,
Stanwood to Yelm,
And we’re keepin’ it real in Winachee.

Well, broken down on the side of the road,
45 minute wait and 3 twist top Michelobe.
Mile 245 and a view of Samish Lake.

(chorus)

lost n found

Written By: Run GMC

He said I’m getting older and his face just made a frown
I used to be talker now I do not make a sound
Paint the town
Oh Yeah I used to paint the town

Back then I was a driller, back then I drove all night
I used to use my hands to the make the buildings touch the sky
Way back when
Way back When all I had was friends

And you know that we don’t need it
But its always been this way
And Its hard to hold forever when whatever’s in the way
So break me off a double of what you got goin down
Nother round in the Lost and Found

Things are getting colder here theres snow upon the ground
I just called to make sure that you knew I’m still around
Still around
Yeah we just keep goin round

If God still loves the workin man
And work’s the way to God
Then what now does he think of me that I ain’t got a job
Beat me down
Its like he don’t want me around

Some are born for winning and some can see the signs
Me I put my money on the dark horse every time
And Let her ride
Hell bent on losin every dime

pusherman

Written By: Run GMC

Whatcha gonna do with that white pusherman
Travellin’ the streets just as much as he can,
All dressed up with just one place to go,
You can tell in his face , I know.

It don’t matter his size, you can tell in his eyes,
Blue shirt, black pants, black ties.

If I pay the cash, and buy your stash
Do you swear my life will change,
Will I rise up from the ashes will I take a brand new name,
Will I lose my fears from all those years, and finally see the light.
Or do you really know what’s right?
Pusherman, dressed in white.

Seven days, that’s seven ways to sell that pusherman.
Slippery tongue and a callused brow, and heavy weighted hand.
It’s a cold blood, cut-throat human race,
No winners at the end,
Just the Pusherman sellin’ sin.

You don’t fool me with your smilin’ eyes,
Or your promise wrapped in gold.
Your best wishes are determined by the dollars that I fold.
You’re cisk in the head and preying on the weaknesses of man,
Then they follow, that’s your plan.
You sick and twisted, Pusherman.

(instrumental break)

You don’t fool me with your smilin’ eyes,
Or your promise wrapped in gold.
Your best wishes are determined by the dollars that I fold.
You’re cisk in the head and preying on the weaknesses of man,
Then they follow, that’s your plan.
You sick and twisted, Pusherman

If I pay the cash, and buy your stash
Do you swear my life will change,
Will I rise up from the ashes will I take a brand new name,
Will I lose my fears from all those years, and finally see the light.
Or do you really know what’s right?
Pusherman, dressed in white.
