Bio

Run Logan was originally known as The Ashheap and was launched in a high school biology class in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. on February 1,1995.

Although each member went his separate way for college, the core group still remained in contact and was able to record a two-disc opus in 2002, with most of the tracks culled during a flurry of rushed winter-break recording sessions in December of 2000.

When finished with college, McDonnell, Relyea, and Mudge reunited in Chicago in August of 2002 to actively pursue scrapping their day jobs for a purely music-based income.

Once in Chicago, the group rechristened itself Run Logan, set up shop in a dingy rehearsal space, and got to work. New songs were written, old songs were revamped, cover songs were interpreted, webpages were coded, and a cleaner, smoother, more mature band materialized. With almost ten years of chemistry and a multitude of talents and influences, Run Logan's songs range from gentle laments to aggressive, balls-out, hard rock declarations. Songs such as "It Comes Back to You" showcase simple, moving melodies, while others -- such as "18 Ways" -- display an undeniable pop sensibility.

After recording Run Logan's debut demo, "A Madman's Borrowed Tales" in May of 2004, guitarist Chris Mudge and bassist William Veeder decided that their futures held higher education, and not the difficult rock band lifestyle. While Run Logan was sad to see the former members leave, the band was reenergized by the recent additions of bassist Rich Grotemeyer and guitarist Paul Garupa. The new lineup has gelled wonderfully and the band is tighter and more intense than ever before.

Run Logan has played various local Chicago Venues such as:

-Double Door
-Elbo Room
-The Note
-Beat Kitchen
-Hog Head McDunna's
