Bio

In October of 2005 a band formed and rehearsed without any material, a drummer playing percussion on a laundry bin and a hand-cart, and a lead vocalist singing vocals through a practice amplifier and a karaoke microphone.

One and a half years later, relying on their love of music, friendship, and an explosion of musical creativity, that same band has created something truly unique. You only need to listen to a single track on their debut album Enter the Tide to feel the emotion and energy behind the music of Running Red Lights.

The music from Enter the Tide is intense from start to finish. Beginning with the blaring riff of “Last Call” the album never loses momentum. Highlighted by anthemic tracks like “Someday,” and “Influence,” the album is riveted with endless hooks and music that will be stuck in the listener’s head for days. Enter the Tide reaches its emotional peak with the track “Addiction,” written about an old friend lost to a drug overdose. Listening to this album from start to finish is truly a memorable experience.

Consisting of 4 New Jersey natives Greg Townsend (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Lemezis (lead guitar), Brian Peak (bass, vocals), and Anthony Gagliano (drums), the band had already carved a niche and created newfound excitement within an otherwise bland music scene. In late 2006 Townsend contacted New England producer Aaron Katz to produce their upcoming album. Fresh out of the studio, the band plans to promote heavily in the upcoming months.

Their live show is not to be missed. The band is able to play with incredible energy without sacrificing its musical quality. Townsend is surrounded by a blur of movement as Lemezis and Peak endlessly thrash behind him, pausing only to tune in between songs or emphasize swells within the music. The crucial elements now in place, Running Red Lights has nowhere to go but up, and hopes to take you along for the ride.
