Feeling a bit camera shy

Combing the powerful songwriting of early Radiohead with an appreciation for mid-90s alternative rock, young singer-songwriter Steve Lewin has stepped up to the musical plate once again, this time under the guise of his latest incarnation, Run Yellow. No stranger to the stage, Lewin began performing at the age of fourteen, eventually helming Toronto-based rock outfit Trick of Fame, a post he held strongly to for almost five years. When scheduling difficulties began rearing their familiar, ugly head within the band, Lewin struck out on his own, performing several shows under his own name, both in his real hometown of Toronto and fantasy hometown of New York, New York. When Trick of Fame finally disbanded properly in 2005, Lewin was given the opportunity to focus solely on his solo material, writing up a veritable shitstorm of creative ballads, rockers, and weepers. Opting to go the humble route and find a suitable name to perform under, Lewin selected Run Yellow, a somewhat ambiguous phrase suited to the enigmatic nature of his music. Now working vigorously on tracks for Run YellowÂ’s debut album, Lewin maintains tight control of the recording, engineering, producing, and, finally, mixing the effort. The result of this artistic immersion is the logical culmination of years of passionately playing and actively listening to music; a compelling, catchy, and heartfelt collection of songs, ready and willing to find the wider audience they seem destined for.
