Comedian-Actor Ruperto Vanderpool is on the cusp of
greatness. The native New Yorker of Dominican extraction is a
natural comedian with a national fan base and an international
appeal and flair. As a stand-up comic, the boisterous Ruperto
Vanderpool has appeared on Martin Lawrence Presents The 1st
Amendment Stand Up on The STARZ Network, BETs Comic View, Its ShowTime at the Apollo, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen and was personally selected by P. Diddy to be the only Hispanic to perform for the Bad Boys of Comedy 2nd Season that aired on HBO May 2007.
His film credits include: co-starring in the Lions Gate Film The Cookout, Carlitos Way (Rise to Power), Granpa
playing the supporting role of Pablo with Music Legend Ruben
Blades, Johnny Pacheco and El General, a memorable role in the
Latino cult-classic EL Vacilon: The Movie, and The Hector Lavoe
Biopic The Singer which he plays the famous seminal Salsa
recording artist Ismael Rivera.
Ruperto Vanderpool also recently won the 1st Annual American
Latino Award for Favorite American Latino Comedian after
going up against comedic powerhouses George Lopez and
Carlos Mencia. Some of his other awards and accolades
include The Hispanic Culture Award, Outstanding Entertainer
for Operation Iraqi Freedom II and The Dominican Times
Magazines Entertainer of the Year Award.
Ruperto Vanderpool is a tireless entertainer with a work ethic
that is a testament to his blue collar Dominican upbringing.
More than just an actor or a comedian, Ruperto Vanderpool will
one day be remembered and recognized as a cultural icon that
opened doors and crashed through barriers for Dominicans
and Latinos alike.
