Rush Galaxy’s odyssey is a testament to talent, passion, and pure gift. Reigning from the West Side of Chicago, Jonathan J. Williams, better known as Rush Galaxy, has been drawn to the hip hop game since the unseasoned age of fourteen. Rush turned to rap at a very young age as an escape from the drugs and violence.
Untalented is a word everyone would find a hard time using to describe Rush. He is an artist who exudes confidence during his performances and creates an aura as to where his audiences can tell that music is his life.
South by Southwest Music festival is one of the largest music festivals assembled in the United States and Rush Galaxy was very fortunate to be able perform at this festival held in Austin, Texas. He has also opened for numerous acts such as Travis Porter at the Congress Theater in Chicago, Illinois as well as Young Jeezy at the Chicago Theater.
Having an abundance talent inside of him, Rush Galaxy has also co-written “Getting’ Some” by Chicago’s very own Shawnna in 2006. The popularity of this song skyrocketed and the single went platinum in the United States. Not only does he outshine during his performances, he is also very beneficial to the writing process as well.
Galaxy’s tracks are close to the hard-hitting tracks of Hip- Hop’s finest Jay-Z. There are plenty of explosives Rush throws into his tracks , in fact there's something for everyone and it all shows a class sophistication that absolutely displays hip hop as a global leader in music industry.
Assurance is what Rush Galaxy’s performances give his audience. He is able to interact with the crowd and stimulate a heap of audience feedback. Being able to make bad situations better is what Galaxy is about. His performances always seem to make the crowd excited about what he is going to do next. Letting there be absolutely no hiatus from rapping, Rush is putting fourth some of his attention to the business side of music. He will be taking part in a state wide meet and greet this upcoming summer at Rad Vintage. Rad Vintage is at store whose goal is is to provide the world with the best selection of vintage clothing. Rush Galaxy is an artist who is very trendy and relates to the current generations’ music as well as fashion needs. He will also be expanding his networking circle with fellow entrepreneurs as well as his fan base by traveling outside of Chicago, to places like Seattle, New York, and Toronto.
Authenticity is what Rush Galaxy’s music melodically screams to the fans. Being able to put everyday situations into a song is what a lot of people can relate to. He also encourages the members of his former group, Bensity, to make a name for them as he has.
Xenomorphic, having a form not its own, is what the music Rush Galaxy creates becomes. The lyrically talented genius takes underground hip-hop/rap to a whole different level. A lot of fans seem to consider Rush’s music invigorating, fresh and progressive. His first solo single is called “Koolin’” with a video on its way.
Young and still in his prime, Rush Galaxy continues to construct music that is very appealing to the Hip-Hop, as well as the Rap, fan base. He is currently working with the infamous Tony Baines on the production of his “1 Third” project. Anything this artist generates will continue to fascinate the hip-hop world.
