Russell Lewis

BandPopRock

Milwaukee rock group with country and folk influence and a great sense of songwriting and arrangement. Russell Lewis has a professional attitude but is making music for their own enjoyment.

Biography

Russell Lewis is a four piece band that came together in the winter of 2006. Playing music in a cold attic in between hangovers became a weekly ritual that helped the band rediscover why they love music.

Russell Lewis combines a diverse knowledge of pop and rock material with some elements of folk and country. Influences include Bob Dyland, George Jones, U2, Nick Cave, Radiohead, Brian Eno, Yo La Tengo, and the Violent Femmes. The songs are about troubled relationships with god, family, and life in general. Russell Lewis' strongest point are the hooks and catchy arrangements mixed into a very innovative yet familiar sound.

Russell Lewis has played shows throughout Milwaukee at The Cactus Club, Mad Planet, Live, The BBC upper level, and at parties. Bands they have played with include Vetiver(DiCristina Stair Builders), Lax Archivist, Murdock, Juniper Tar, Fear of Water, Dustworks, Julie Moffitt(Burst Records), Sonny's Blues, and The Right Arms.
