Russell Mann

I've been writing music for the past twenty years. I have played in a few bands doing mostly cover music, which I continue to enjoy as often as we can all get together. My latest collaboration is an all acoustic three piece band. We've been playing our brand of original music now since about March of this year (2011). We've done two live performances, and plan to continue along and see where we can play. As for my solo performance history, as I mentioned I've been writing for the past 20 years, and have performed a number of times. However, most of my experience is at private parties, volunteering at hospitals/homes/etc., and open mic and coffee shops. I am trying to get out and do a lot more, that's why I've come here. My main influences are from the early acoustic blues players, but my music isn't really blues. I would say you can hear Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, CCR, and Pink Floyd inspiration in my songs. I also love 50's, 60's, and 70's soul singing, specifically Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, The Temptations...oh I could just keep going, but you see where I'm sure.
