Bio
Born into a musical family in Glasgow Scotland, Russell Maxwell was next in line destined to be a performer following in the footsteps of his Mother and Uncle, both lead vocalists performing across Europe in the 60's. The family moved to Toronto, Canada where Russ honed his skills on the guitar teaching himself how to play Hendrix, Page,Gibbons along with bands like AC/DC, Judas Priest, Van Halen etc. Then at age 16 the family moved to Florida. After playing the south Florida club scene Russ was hired as Molly Hatchet's axe-man and went on to perform approximately eight hundred live shows in twelve different countries, sharing the stage and some stimulating conversations with bands he grew up idolizing like Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Journey, Def Leppard and many many more. Russ has four album credits: "Kingdom of Twelve", "The 25th Anniversary", Locked and Loaded" and "Warriors of the Rainbow Bridge", all with southern rock legends Molly Hatchet. Other projects included a tour with the Seminole Indian tribe of Florida's "Native Music Rocks" which led Russ to play at the "Hard Rock" venues from Times Square to Tampa. Russ is currently performing as lead vocalist and lead guitar for the self titled "Russ Maxwell Band" and has recently finished recording his first solo album in 2010 in which he sang all lead and harmony vocals, played all bass and guitar tracks. Russ is endorsed by John Kammer Guitars and also plays Gibson, Fender, Marshall and Peavey.
