"RUST"

"...making a statement as one of the most brutal bands in Austin." - ATX Music Magazine

"RUST in Houston"

“They[RUST] let the music do the talk'n without any big *ROCKSTAR* stage attitudes. Lyricly morbid w/ some old school thrash driving into death drop beats, unique guitar riffs, dark, sludgy and haunting feel w/ an added thick, hypnotic bass backbone. I was hooked from the get-go and could'nt take their c.d. out of my car stereo for several weeks after their show. I definately support and believe RUST has what it takes to take things to another level.” - Clayton Edwards 89.7 KACC FM(Alvin,TX)

"RUST"

“...a crushing metallic slab of agony, despair, and rage written for the apocalypse or just the demise of modern society." - Equilibria Radio 91.7 KVRX (Austin)

Bio

Formed in 2010 by Patrick Puente and Dustin Bolf as a side project, RUST assumed full speed ahead in the first year as a band after a breakthrough response during South by Southwest of 2011. Progression of music, evolution of sound and the tenacity to leave the audience in awe drives RUST to leave every piece of themselves on each stage they bring their music to. Influenced by classic rock bands like Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, RUST also fingers the incision caused by such sludge metal geniuses as EYEHATEGOD, Grief and Crowbar. The members of RUST created Sludgebeast Publishing in 2011 as a sounding board to produce and publish their own music as well all other projects they are involved such as a spoken word/noise compilation to a counter-culture magazine hitting the streets of Austin, Texas in summertime 2012.
