Bio

RYAN CONNER

Born in Tallahassee, Florida in May 1977, Ryan Conner was the one and only child born to Claud and Sindy Conner.

After moving to Montgomery, Alabama in October of that same year, Ryan's parents settled down on the south side of the city known as Seth Johnson. By this time had reached the age of two, and was off to day care. The teacher's and administration of the day care center, always took a special interest in Ryan, because of his ability to communicate, and special interests in music.

As Ryan reached the age of five he already elected himself to be the official radio jockey and singer in the car.
In the year of 1982, Ryan was finally introduced into hunting, fishing, cow tipping, riding horses, and listening to outlaw country music.

Ryan's father owned several horses at this time, and would take him on trail rides, rodeos, horse auctions, and camping trips.
Wherever they went there was always shot guns, country music, and good ol' boys to show Ryan the right way to live, he was also brought up to respect his elders, say his southern respects (yes Mam, no Mam) and also to respect, and love the country, and nature.

Ryan began his love for music at a very early age, by the of six he had already learned several songs by people such as, Hank Williams Sr, and Jr, Alabama, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash. Also at this age was the first guitar he ever received, a birthday cake shaped like a Fender Telecaster.

Ryan's first real memory of live music, was when his parents took him down to Tallahassee, Florida on a trip to visit some of his parents friends. Their son who at the time was attending Florida State University, had a electric guitar, he took Ryan aside and taught him how to make a few chords, and sing a few country songs, needless to say Ryan was instantly hooked, for life.

Ryan really began his love with music in the seventh grade, at Capitol Heights Jr. High school, in Montgomery, Al, where he played trombone in the symphonic band, and marching band.
Ryan soon left the band after only one year, to start playing football and baseball.

In the fall of 1994, Ryan began Robert E. Lee High School, in Montgomery Alabama, but he soon found himself out of foot ball and into the singing program. Ryan spent four years at Lee, graduated in 1996 and afterwards enrolled at Troy State University in Troy, Al on a music scholarship.

While at Troy State, Ryan took up with several friends, a fraternity, and the local karaoke scene that was in Troy at the time. On top of school, a fraternity life, working a part time job at a hardware store, and having a social life, Ryan met up with the friends that would change his life forever, Joe Wright, Wayne Mills, and Brandon Caryl.

Joe Wright was a regular ol' guy around campus, (Except for the cowboy hat, boots, and a lime green Plymouth Cuda).
Joe was the guy who had the most impact on Ryan's music life to date. Ryan met Joe at his fraternity house one night in the fall, he stopped by for a party that the fraternity was having, and brought his guitar with him. Ryan saw how all of the girls crowded around him as he played for about four straight hours on the back porch with a fifth of straight Heaven Hill Whiskey to drink. Afterwards Ryan and Joe got to talking shop, and so Joe let Ryan come to a couple of gigs with him and sit in on a few songs and do some back ground vocals.
The crowds responded to Ryan very well and so this is what launched Ryan's music career.

Today Ryan's music career is expanding at a rapid rate, he has opened for such artists as Wesley Dennis, Joe Wright, Andy Norman, The Wayne Mills Band, and Adam Hood.
Ryan has also played with such professional artists as, Jamey Johnson
(Wrote songs such as: The Dollar, Give it away, and Honky Tonk Badonkadonk) Taylor Hicks (Winner of American Idol) Rhett Adkins (That ain’t my truck), Pat Green (Wave on Wave) John Rich ( Save a horse ride a cowboy) and Jason Michael Carroll (Alyssa Lies).
Ryan has also played in the showcase group Alabama Line, which is based in Nashville, Tn, and he has also been noticed by Mr. Curt Brewer, who is a former employee of CMT, and now assists major country artists such as Tanya Tucker, Jamey Johnson, and Brad Paisley. Ryan is also an accomplished song writer as well as acoustic musician, he has written over 40 songs in his career of ten years. Self taught on the acoustic guitar, and having taken over ten years of professional vocal lessons, Ryan has a promising career ahead of him.

Ryan and his wife Miranda just recently moved to the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast, living in Gulf Shores, Al.
Ryan has has also recently caught the attention of bar owners Pat McCellan, and Joe Gilcrist, and has played at such establishments as, The Flora-Bama, The Keg, Fisherman’s Corner, Pink Pony, Snappers Lounge, Hub Stacey’s, Fat Back’s, and Papa Rocco’s.
