Biography

Canadian artist Ryan Fletcher has become well known as a local Vancouver radio host, mc, and poet since moving to the city from his Prince Edward Island home at the age of 25. After being deeply involved in the local Vancouver scene for five years, in 2011 Ryan is finally incorporating music into his performance repertoire. In any show you can expect an eclectic mix of poetry, music and humour, Ryan is certainly one of the more well-studied musicians to ever make his debut. A twelve year poet, lifelong music fan, and interviewer of hundreds of local Vancouver's finest. Ryan's music reflects upon his deep interest and knowledge in the art of lyric sound and song. While freshest with his vocals and guitar playing, the lyric and vocal presentations have already been captivating audiences at local Vancouver venues in this, just his first year. Early stylistic comparisons thus far have been to the acoustic Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen and Bruce Cockburn.
For influence Harry Chapin is a big one. The humor, gratitude, story-telling and showmanship of Harry Chapin are big influences on Ryan Fletcher's approach to music, and to life in general.
