Bio

I currently reside at Berklee college of Music on a full scholarship in my second semester, majoring in Music Education. Previously, I was 1st chair Alto Saxophone at the LA County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), run by Jason Goldman, since freshman year. The Bigband won the Monterey Jazz Festival three times and was a winner of the 32nd Annual Student Music Awards, through “Downbeat” Magazine. I was also in jazz combos four years, run by Bill Wysaske and Walter Smith III. I was in the Orchestra, conducted by Alan Mautner, two years on flute and one year on Bassoon. I played in the pit for almost every LACHSA productions, playing all of my doubles. The most memorable productions were Bye Bye Birdie, Merrily We Roll Along, and The Wizard of Oz. Out of school, I was in Joseph Pernicano’s modern jazz quintet. I was the recipient of the Livingston and Evans Music Scholarship and award.
On flute, I was in the Chamber Music Series with Susan Greenberg, and was featured on the radio in May 2009, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 88.5 KCSN and streamed on www.kcsn.org. I was chosen to play flute in the movie, “Fame.” As a kid, I did Kaiser commersials and worked on the movie "Jeremy Mcguire."
The most recent favorite performance I have had was taking over a two minute solo at the Hollywood Bowl with Herbie Hancock!
For now, I’m working on cleaning up and notating my originals, for tomorrow could entail anything.
