Ryan Joseph

Ryan Joseph discovered the power of great songwriters early in life listening to groups like Billy Joel, The Eagles and other classics. His parents also had a great appreciation for R&B and soul music, and always played and sang it in their house (Stylistics, Spinners, and Whitney Houston just to name a few). But it wasn't until he heard tunes from artists like Babyface, Brian McKnight, Counting Crows, and others that he was really turned on to the craft of songwriting. It was through their songs, not just for themselves-but for a myriad of other groups, that he realized how awesome song creation was.

He took choir in high school and discovered he had a decent voice, and very soon started to learn piano and guitar to accompany himself singing. As the trials and tribulations of life, and love hit, he turned to songs to help express himself and his emotions.

Since then he has written over 30 completed songs, with over 70 that are works in progress. Most are Pop and R&B, but he also writes country, jazz, folk, and alternative.

He recently won 'best performance' in the Sacramento West Coast Songwriters Songwriting competion, and was a semi-finalist in Mark Pinder's Songwars for the song Wonderful.

He is currently a high school teacher and loves it. But he also loves writing music as well and would love nothing more that to get his work out there for people to listen to.
