Ryan Matthews

I am a singer/songwriter from Nashville. With alternative country being my main sound, I also mix my folk influences to create my own unique style of music. Bob Dylan and Ryan Adams are my main influences, but there are many others that have helped me to create the sound I play and sets me apart from most music of today.
Some people critiquing his music state his writing is abstract, but that in actuality is what his music is about- it makes you think. Even when sometimes he may be writing what he says is a 'simple song', you personally find depth and meaning. Looking at his songs line by line you will find hidden emotions and underlying thoughts that transcend the written word-which on the surface you may not see.
