Bio

Ryan first discovered a love of music at the age of eight when he began playing violin and singing in various choir ensembles. Excelling vocally, he was invited to join such productions as the opera "Tosca," which ran for a number of weeks at Ashland, Oregon's Angus Bowmer Theater, and the Northwest Children's Honor Choir, held at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Oregon.
As time went on, Ryan developed a love of various musical genres and drew influence from such artists as Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, Cream, Richard Buckner, Public Enemy, Thelonius Monk, Radiohead, the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, Crowded House, Tom Waits, Jackson Browne, and countless others. He began playing guitar at the age of eleven and began writing songs at the age of thirteen, finding a passion for creating rock music that was inspired most heavily by classic rock and the Seattle grunge rock sound. He recorded in various studios at different times throughout his teenage years and played in a number of rock bands from North Carolina to Oregon to New York. In 2003, he released his debut album on a small independent label out of New York called Wondergoat Records. The album is titled "Bagdaddio" and has been described as 'edgy,' 'ethereal and emotional,' and a 'wonderful rock album.' Since its release, Ryan has played numerous shows to promote it, both with a backing band as well as solo acoustic shows. Shows in such venues as CBGB's or Kenny's Castaways in New York, The Fiddler's Dream in Phoenix, Arizona, or the East Village Coffee Lounge in Monterey, California, have elicited wonderful crowd responses, the most common praise being for Ryan's vocal and lyrical abilities. In December of 2006, Ryan completed a follow up to Bagdaddio entitled "Subtlety of the Sudden", a fifteen track, eclectic mix of songs that will be released sometime before Summer '07. Listeners of Rock, Folk, Indie, Adult Contemporary and Experimental music are sure to appreciate Ryan's unique sound and song crafting ability.
