Ryan Schutt

When Ryan gets the opportunity to talk at a group of strangers with a microphone, he relates to them by drawing from his pathetically shallow reservoir of life experience. Staying comfortably within the bounds of his limited knowledge and interests, his material focuses on things that bother him, getting bothered by things, and the relationship between him and things that are bothersome. It goes without saying that it is clearly everything else that has a problem, not him.

Ryan has performed at SF Sketchfest, NXNE, Bentzen Ball, and Gilda's Laugh Fest, as well as the Laughing Skull Comedy, Out of Bounds Comedy, Boston Comedy Arts, Cape Fear Comedy, and Midpoint Music Festivals. Locally, he has performed at the DC Improv, the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, the State Theater, and the Black Cat and has opened for touring headliners such as Godfrey, Jared Logan, Dov Davidoff, Bengt Washburn, Dave Ross, and Tiffany Haddish. He has also made appearances on the Nerdists's "Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction" podcast, "The Alyona Show" on Russia Today,  "The Stream" on Al Jazeera, and "The Arch Campbell Show" on WJLA/ABC 7. In 2013, he won the inaugural District Comedy/Capital City Showcase March Madness of Comedy, a single-elimination tournament featuring over 50 of the best comics in the DC and Baltimore areas. Ryan was born and raised in Washington, DC, where he regularly performs standup, sketch, and improv comedy.
