Bio

At the ripe age of 15, Ryan Valdiviez began writing and performing his songs that communicate feelings that go along with coming of age and a loss of one’s innocence. In the winter of 2003, Ryan composed and recorded a 5 song EP called “Pasadena 1968”. After that EP was released, Ryan continued to write and record new material. In the fall of 2005, Ryan composed and recorded a 10 song LP called “Training for Fire”. After a brief hiatus to focus on his career, Ryan has continued to compose over 100 plus songs to date. More recently, Ryan released a 5 song EP called “The Split Awakening.”

“I decided to call this EP the split awakening due to the mindset’s God had been working in me through the writing process of these worship and rock songs. I had always been told, if you want to put out a worship record, it must have ALL worship songs on it. But through my time with God, He had birthed this idea of doing all out rock and worship songs on 1 EP. So in short, “Split” meaning the stylistic approach to rock songs and worship songs on 1 EP. And “Awakening” the revelation from God doesn't want us to defy the status quo, but He wants us to SET the status quo.”

Ryan’s Influences consist of Jeff Buckley, Muse, Radiohead, Ascend The Hill, Carpark North, Mew, and many other European rock outfits. Playing a number of shows throughout the years, Ryan has toured through New York’s Rockland County, Northwest Ohio/SE Michigan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Bangkok, Thailand playing in various venues from clubs to prisons. Ryan Valdiviez has shared stages with Need To Breath, David Martel, Jeremy Camp, Michael Gungor, Matt Maher, Relient K, Sanctus Real, Everyday Sunday, etc.
