Ryan Young

BandPopAdult Contemporary

Piano driven pop/rock with an upbeat, indie feel. Soulful vocals and meaningful lyrics from an 18 year old Seattlite singer/songwriter.

Biography

Ryan began writing and recording his first songs at the age of 13, and now at age 18 has built a strong fan base in his hometown, and recorded his first professionally produced EP of original songs. Classified as “piano-driven indie pop,” its catchy melodies and insightful lyrics appeal to a large audience of listeners and are easy to enjoy.

“Young's upbeat musical style and pop-rock instrumentation reveal his youthfulness, but his mature writing appeals to an adult audience. Listen, listen, listen!”
– CD Baby reviewer

After learning how to play piano at a young age, Ryan began to feel the need for something to accompany his classical piano background. So he began singing with local choirs and developed a powerful pop-soul voice, which meshes seamlessly with his catchy piano riffs.

As a relatively young artist, Ryan has procured a uniquely captivating sound, which promises a very successful music career down the road.

Ryan attends Chapman University in Orange County, California, and studies Business Administration and Music. He plays small venues in and around Orange County for people of all ages and walks of life. Music has been and continues to be his passion in life, so big things can be expected from him.

“Ryan's pop-rock voice compliments his wonderful piano playing, and a solid band of pop oriented instruments. ‘Changing Seasons’ can live up to artists like Gavin DeGraw, and The Fray, but doesn't compromise its own uniqueness. A must buy for all ages!”

Lyrics

Hello Mrs Heartache

Written By: Ryan Young

Time goes slowly as the door slams in your face.
You think about the things that brought you to this place.
Now, I believe in miracles but this seems way past saving.
Heated words and broken dreams are just not worth replaying.
And I think you should leave.

So hello, it's been a while, since I have talked with you.
You left me with a broken smile, and two missed calls from you.
So hello Mrs Heartache, is this where I'm supposed to be?
Is this last kiss my calling card, or just my cue to leave?

If you'd seen the look reflected in my eyes.
Sadness can't explain the lack of love inside.
The frequency of hurting now, is just too hard, to know.
So I sit and play these keys just trying to let go.
And I think you should leave.

So hello, it's been a while, since I have talked with you.
You left me with a broken smile, and two missed calls from you.
So hello Mrs Heartache, is this where I'm supposed to be?
Is this last kiss my calling card, or just my cue to leave?

Stay

Written By: Ryan Young

What I want and what I need, have trouble seeing eye to eye.
But your beautiful disguise, has left me longing deep inside.

You stand still as I walk by.
Along this road that you have led me to.
Your face is warm, your hands outstretched.
Wanting just for me and you.

I've been gone so long,
That time stands in my way.
I'm learning your new song,
So I have chosen to stay.

Feeling out my heart's intent, with pencil drawn and fingers bent.
Trying to describe your hearts desire.
And how you turned a single flame, into a fire.

I've been gone so long,
That time stands in my way.
I'm learning your new song,
So I have chosen to stay.

Something New

Written By: Ryan Young

Someone's definition,
Tell me what I'm missing,
Tell me what it means to me.
Listen to my breathing,
Show me what you're feeling,
Is this all I was meant for?
Can I find something more,
That moves within my heart, because it needs dusting off.

Tomorrow's not today.

Time goes by as we move onward.
In search of something new.
We turn our heads from memories faded.
Too hard, too far, too few,
In search of something new.

I've been watching so long,
It's hard for me to see,
It any other way.
So take my heart and lay it,
Open on the floor.
That's where it's meant to be.

Tomorrow's not today.

Time goes by as we move onward.
In search of something new.
We turn our heads from memories faded.
Too hard, too far, too few,
In search of something new.
