Bio
Expressing oneself through music is seen in many artists music, but
it is rare to see an artist expose their every essense through their
music like singer/songwriter Ryshon Jones does. Born In Philadelphia
in 1991, Ryshon had dreams of playing basketball but realized his true
passion when his cousin showed him an old beat up tape player and tape
recorder he found. At 17 years-old Ryshon began coming into his own as
an artist, he wanted his music to speak for itself without any facade
or gimmick, he decided to go by his given name bearing his true self
as he does through his music.
Ryshons style being innovative and intriguing it is not surprise he
pulls influences from all genres of music. He says one of his biggest
influences is Coldplay, without listening to his music many would find
odd, but hearing his innate ability to take two different sounds and
combine them to create a new sound explains it perfectly. Ryshon Jones quit his job in 2012 to attend his first SXSW gig and since then he's been going for his dream even more.Since then playing festivals like A3C,Culture Shock,New Music Seminar.Complex Magazine named him one of the top 10 artist to watch for out of Philadelphia and he's been proving catching press from Noisey,XXL,Vice and many other publications.
Ryshon just released a new project Hope Is A Dangerous Thing which is a 15 track project that features a digital look/poetry book.All of this was done in 3 weeks and with things like that i'm sure we can expect a lot more from Ryshon in the upcoming year with his first official album Track Fifteen slated to drop later in 2014.He's a humble,dedicated,versatile artist who cares about the music and the art and going against the grain.
