Bio

Sabin Sharpe grew up hunting and fishing on Fourth Creek and Bull Swamp Creek with his father and family in Swansea, South Carolina, population 827.

Sabin, a well-known athlete, played on the 12U State Baseball Championship Team from Lexington SC and continued to excel all the way through high school as a much recruited pitcher.

After graduating from high school Sabin joined the U.S. Army and began singing and writing songs.

Sabin’s grandma saw a musical talent in him and nurtured him along, getting him a Karaoke machine, CD’s, a small PA system and whatever he needed to teach himself to sing. As he began practicing, people began to notice. At first he wasn’t interested in singing in front of people but his grandma wanted him to sing in church; and so, beginning of story!

In 2011, Sabin’s dad, Jim, entered him in the Texaco Showdown singing contest in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Sabin won the semifinals and came in second in the finals and it was the first time he’d ever sung on stage. The director of the event pulled Jim aside and told him he’d been in the radio business for close to 30 years and that Sabin had something special. He said he had the voice and the look to do great things. However, he felt that Sabin was still a little green and needed to get a band and become more seasoned. Afterwards, Sabin told his dad that he loved being on stage and wanted to see how far he could go in the music business. So father and son made a pact to work together and started figuring out how to build a band.

In late 2012 searching YouTube and Craigslist, they put a group of musicians together and formed the Sabin Sharpe Band. The band hit the stage running in January of 2013 when they played their first show. Powered by Sabin’s powerful vocals, they were on fire playing their ‘in your face’ style of country music that their fans loved. Sabin and his band played over 70 shows that first year out and never looked back. Sabin and the Sabin Sharpe Band opened for acts such as; Wayland, Gannon Adams and rock band legend Jackyl. That same year, Sabin and his band recorded his first 3-song demo that including “Shake What Your Momma Gave Ya”, “The Ballard of Bobby Baine”, and “Just Like The Rest”.

In 2014 they opened for the country band, Outshyne, David Lee Murphy, Lenny Cooper, and America’s got Talent Benton Blount. Sabin and his band have played some of the biggest venues in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and California, including NASCAR’s Darlington Raceway, Wild Wings Café, The Tin Roof, Jillian’s, The Country Club Dance Hall & Saloon, and The Mint. Sabin has also played acoustically at The World Famous Tootsies, Bootlegger Inn Swinging Door Saloon, The Boot Barn and the upper deck @ George Jones Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. In November 2014 Sabin received the Founders Award for ‘Best New Artist’ from the Charlotte Music Association in Los Angeles California!

Sabin continued touring in 2015 and saw his song “Country Girl Can Survive” entered for Grammy consideration.

He released his first ‘self penned’ EP in March of 2016 featuring the title song “Start A Fire”.

His first single “Empty Bottle” was written from personal experience and is Sabin’s favorite song yet. And he’s opening for bigger acts; Tracy Lawrence, Dylan Scott, Josh Thompson and Colt Ford to name a few.

The follow up is a killer ‘Aldean-esque’ ballad called “When I Met You” and is slated for a late 2017 fall release.

Sabin is still building. He’s building a fan-base all over the country, he’s building his songwriting repertoire, he’s building a ladder and he’s climbing to SuperStar status. He’s been on championship teams before. He’s got this!
