Discography

Um, I did my own recording for my first two CDs, To Heal the Broken-hearted, and Hymns for Hannah (just keyboard on the hymns). I had someone else record an EP for me called In His Image, which I have merged into my latest CD, which I also had a producer for, With You.

Bio

I can remember making up songs when I was 4 years old to sing to my little sister to help her go to sleep. But I started "writing" music at age 17, inspired by Steven Curtis Chapman's music, as well as by Keith Green's music, which I grew up on. I am often told that my music is so peaceful and beautiful. I guess that would have something to do with the fact that the main use for my music growing up was to help little people go to sleep. (I am the oldest of 7 children, and have two children of my own.)
As I grew up, I started to realize that music can have a powerful impact on people's lives and eternities. When I was in college, I wrote a song about emotional healing from childhood abuse. A friend and I were doing a service for a juvenile delinquint place with a group from our college, so he played the guitar while I sang that song for them, and I shared my testimony out of which the song had come, with a beautiful Scripture from Isaiah about how God suffers with us in our suffering. After the service, I think every single girl in the room as well as a few guys crowded up to me to tell me how much that song meant to them. It was amazing. One girl wrote to me for a long time after that. (I wrote back to her, of course, and went to visit her once and we talked for two hours.) God can change people's lives when His word becomes real to them. That is why I do what I do.
