Sabrina Smith

The name "Sabs" is not only a nickname but also a motto for my life: S.eeking A.lternatives to B.ettering myself in S.ong. I've been singing for a very long time but have been honing my skills with classical training since I entered college in 2002. I am an ASCAP-affiliated songwriter. Some of my musical influences include my Mother, Roberta Flack, Denyce Graves, India Arie and Jill Scott. Since then, my voice and music has developed into something that I am very passionate about. My music draws upon personal experiences of myself and others. Elements of R&B, Neo-soul, Jazz and Blues can be found in my music; yet it is versatile and everchanging. My music does not conform to anyone's standard. Simply put...it is MINE; a representation of me. While I am currently working on my Masters in Historical Studies, I am actively recording, performing and participating in contests, etc. Though my repertoire is small, it is strong. I am willing to perform as an opening act or in between sets of major acts. My main goal right now is to get my music heard by a wider audience and widen my fanbase.
