Bio

Sequan Smith (born May 10, 1993), better known by his stage name, Sae (stylized as saeitaintso), from which he adopted his moniker from his mother, is an American rapper and producer. He was born in Bronx, New York, but raised in Washington Heights to both parents, who later had split. His mother and siblings had later relocated to reside in Teaneck, New Jersey.

In his childhood memories, he recalls Hip-Hop and R&B music being heavily played in his home that included music from Jay-Z, Biggie and R Kelly. When Sae was in the sixth grade he started to take interest in rap and hip-hop music.

After graduating from Teaneck High School, he attended Institute of Audio Research for Audio Engineering. While completing the 9-month program, he began interning as an engineer at the legendary NYC studio, Daddy’s House Recording Studio. During his internship, he was offered the role as the assistant engineer. He recorded sessions with some of today’s biggest stars such as P. Diddy, T.I, Rick Ross, and Justin Bieber. He also helped co-engineer super producers Mario Winans and Wyclef Jean.

In late 2012, after working amongst all of these great artists, he decided to pursue his career as a solo artist. In the summer of 2013, he began recording his debut mixtape “I Love Her”. Recording at Daddy’s House, he received consultation on this mixtape from Deric ‘’D-Dot” Angelettie, from Bad Boy Production group “THE HITMEN”. Then in the fall of 2013, “I LOVE HER” mixtape was released. The mixtape features guest appearances from Jerry, Mackey, Raeliss and Blaq. Produced by J Tracks, Astatus, Evan Brown, and Bkorn, just to name a few. Within the first month of its release, the critical acclaimed mixtape was downloaded over 1500 times and led to Sae having new supporters and fan-base.

Sae will be the next big artist! As he would say, “It’s time to take over”!
