Biography

Safe in Sound started out in 2005 with the alliance of musicians Bob Millaire (drums) and Emilie Lussier (vocals/piano). The duo turned into a quartet with Gab Hardy at the bass and Martine Desjardins at the guitar. Along with special guests, the band performed several trip hop cover shows in Montreal and the surroundings. A mix of strong vibes soon emerged into a writing process, ending up as their very first independent album entitled AmusiA, with rock, trip hop and jazz flavors. The album was recorded in February and March 2008 at Red Rhino Records (Richie Vincent) and Studio Sanchez (Louis Martin), and mastered by Bill Szawlowski at Ventura Digital Audio. AmusiA was released June 21st, 2008.

Trigger

TRIGGER

blinding drape
so secure tied around your neck
pull a little tighter, i can taste my own bitterness
shivers keep me warm
i drink my tea alone

yellow has faded to be replaced by nails
scratching the tip of my kitch
suddendly i'm found guilty
all i have is coffee

forgotten instants
innocence is lost

tell me a story of a princess long ago
who lived happily ever after
it might keep me awake
or draw me back to dream
tell me i'm beautiful, my ego needs flattering
i'll turn and dance the other way
never to stare at you again

leave me out bleeding, no one called for a healing
Searching for something
this is the only thing I can feel

forgotten instants
innocence is lost

And now I wish it all away
Watch me break it off

Sadly I dared to ask you where my heart was hiding
When I found it pounding so hard I thought it would explode
But it was you who pulled the trigger on the target

Blow me up, rip me open
all you'll get are bones and tissues
put me up with all the other dolls
the ones on the floor
my face is not as pretty but my dress sure is nice

And now I wish it all away
Watch me break it off

Mafia

MAFIA

Downtown New York city
Down that dark 42nd street
Smoky Cat Jazz Bar with their open doors
Jammin it free

Red ash cigars, Manhattans swirling around
An underdressed waitress, and that old piano sound
Big mouths stalking stocks
From the Black Market underground

I know that you hired someone to follow me
Such a pity
To see if I’d fool you
I know your game, I’ve played it too, didn’t you know
I’d leave and go
No one to trust, nothing new

Orange burnt-like spotlights silouettes the band
All alone I stand straight, hollow microphone in hand
On this wooden stage floor I will bare my crime
That you’ve worked so hard to find

I know that you hired someone to follow me
Such a pity
To see if I’d fool you
I know your game, I’ve played it too, didn’t you know
I’d leave and go
No one to trust, nothing new

You were so obsessed with control
With the Boys, as much as in Love
Yes I’ve seen a glimpse of your wound
Here’s the truth, Infidelity lies
In my Woumb

Hidden Years

Written By: Safe in Sound

Remember the thick silence around the diner table
Yes, All of these great feelings we've kept so personal
Where did our youthful pride began to shatter

It's too late , we can't bring it back
You'll just have to deal with the past
It's too late, don't try to payback
You'll just have to get off my back

I remember your smile you had when you had to explain
I saw it reflecting off the blade you had hidding in your
back again

Explain it was a way to keep the eyes off your horseplay
We wouldn't want the truth to bare out there on a display
When did you decide that I would be the one doctored

It's too late , we can't bring it back
You'll just have to deal with the past
It's too late, don't try to payback
You'll just have to get off my back

Mall of Fame

Written By: Safe in Sound

I think we might've
found it out this time
A great tall Beauty
with heels will do just fine
Quick we've got to get
her CD out
We'll do a photoshoot
with her Chest sticking out
And if it don't work
i've got a back up plan
An intellectual Actress
who brings
Conscience to her fans

I'm so tired of this Empire
Stand in line and admire
When will it all Backfire

Who needs a
real band anyway
Playsynch the show
and tune the voice on
National Airways
We'll win a sexiest clip
award on MTV
And then declare
our album platinum
for our investment fees

I Thought Dow Jones was a country singer

Written By: Safe in Sound

Speculate in a wandering glaze
Flashing prays in this marvelous maze
I'll keep on trying until I slowly fade
To a pure white uniform in my holy grave
There are days i feel minds are blue
and you know you can push yourself up
and reach an endless view
I'll never be lazily hoping for a miracle
My worn out shoes have
never seem more
Comfortable

Let's all point at
the black spots on the sun
I just turn and look the other way

Constant greed of wanting
everything new
I'll never bow down to Trust and Value
I'll keep on searching
'til it all elevates because
Everything may change
at Heaven's Gate
So many things I missed and
walked on by
Guess that freewill will
never ask why
I'm not the type that waits still
for someone else
I'll keep on moving for
my lost fate somewhere else

Let's all point at
the black spots on the sun
I just turn and look the other way
Let's start the race cuz soon
the End will come
But i wouldn't want it
any other way
We could break the pace cuz
soon we might be gone
But i wouldn't want it
any other way.

Fashionable Suicide

Written By: Safe in Sound

There's been another
shooting spree
For a day of fame on TV
Killing students as a
Message it seems
America's in a Fashion Dream

Something's wrong with the
Fear to learn
that all of this is of
the last Concern
For the Ones you voted to Govern
The NRA, the cash flow
and the cigars burn

While Mr._________, begs for $
of overworked
and underpayed watchers
lazy music fills the big Studio Malls
and i feel I just may fall

Something's wrong with the
Fear to learn
that all of this is of
the last Concern
For the Ones you voted to Govern
The NRA, the cash flow
and the cigars burn

What ever happened to
Commun Sense
is now a Furious, Individual Glance
As for one is free to buy and pay
Enough guns to Play
God that Day

Dissipative Mind

Written By: Safe in Sound

I burn my eyes looking out for you
Empty faces never earned my Sympathy
I'm sorry if you think
That I owe you anything
I've got to save my own Insanity

Clean, clean your sights
From what's right
Empathy
Leaves you behind
Wave, wave the knife
Play it right
It makes you
One of a kind

Down below scared and hidding
Smoke cuts us out of light
You'll kill your lonely self
for other people's might
Narcissistic fever numbs the pain in So many freeze bites
Like it could restrain you
from Lost Time and Desparate nights
You're the only one one suffering in this Play
Just One Pill a day will cloud Judgement away
I've got you cornered this time
Now wouldn't you say
It's plain to see that I'm still here
Helping your way

Clean, clean your sights
From what's right
Empathy
Leaves you behind
Wave, wave the knife
Play it right
It makes you
One of a kind

Shut your Eyes
Win the Prize
You surmised
Brake the Ties

No One

Written By: Safe in Sound

Empty, white eyes, frozen lungs
Endless Breathing, Mindless Souls
Consummers of Fake, Images to Please
Barriers to Break
Sneaking away with pride
Illusions of Peace, to hide the Shamefull truth, the Mistakes
Everyday lies, unsignificant to our Eyes, day by day I die
It's all about freeing your mind
All the Shit you've known dries
and eats you up
You've been molded for the good of All, forget who you are
Do you like what you think or you think what you like

Bitting your nails wondering which way will come next
Those ways full of make-up
are doomed to Freewill
In this ill-fated World
Where no one Reflects
Where the Children forget You
'cause you've grown so Cold

Go on with your Shameless Lies
Go on til the Shame takes you over

Our Century's Reflex

Written By: Safe in Sound

I couldn't help but to notice the Shepperd's new briefcase at the Flock's reunion
And in a lack of Concentration, I heard is speech in slow motion:
" And we all know that Peace, won't pay the Rent...
and the greater Beliefs, the greater cracks in the pavement."
He was slowly conviencing the skeptics
That Economic Warfare was the best Trick
Combined with a Reinforced Nationalism. " Now Nothing Withstands Our Species Wisdom".

Seasons may never change again
Relax, and watch our great nature flow

Check out our rotten foundations as we grow
And don't try to restrain the viscious crows

Seasons may never change again

-- Our Joys Are So Different, but what stays the same, Is Our Pain --
