They have two albums and performances at everything from X Games to opening slots with Sprung Monkey, Blink 182, and Buck o Nine. Following the path of the digital music age, they will be releasing singles throughout the year featuring multiple remixes of each song from some of the top names in the music game. Dear Sol, Thank you so much for your participation in the 2010 Rock'n'Roll San Diego Marathon. This event could not have been the enormous success that it was without Safety Orange's enthusiastic and delightful performance. We had 30,000 runners and record numbers of spectators plus tons of positive feedback from the racing community regarding the music. - Carolyn & Michelle, Entertainment Solutions Inc. (Jun 17, 2010)
Bassist Sol Turpin has now been nominated twice in the “Best Tribute Band” category with the Sublime tribute act of 40 Oz. To Freedom and the Cure tribute combo The Cured, though he recently left both to concentrate on his own band, Safety Orange. Turpin also performed at the awards ceremony in 2002, backing his younger sisters, Anna and Lindsey Troy. “The [San Diego] Music Awards? They’re a good thing,” Turpin said. “It lets people know that some of the bigger bands out there are from here, and helps newer groups get noticed. It adds hype to the scene — in a good way — putting extra focus on the musicians from the area. It can’t hurt. Turpin really lets loose. The difference is that in this case he’s playing his own music, a radio-friendly mix of new wave and pop punk. Fans of either category approve, but if you like tunes that have equal parts adrenaline and melody, you’ll want to hear Safety Orange. - Bart Mendoza, Beach and Bay Press (Aug 05, 2010)
