Bio

Hailing from Auckland, New
Zealand, Sagan's eye is a five
piece rock band, formed in
early 2011.

Over the last 12 months
Sagan's eye has been writing
songs and recording demos,
and at the same time,
establishing themselves as an energetic and entertaining live act. Recently Sagan's eye
secured the services of award-winning NZ producer Andrew Buckton from Studio 203 to
record and produce their debut single Dead Man Walking, which has since been mastered at
Sterling Sounds (New York) by Ryan Smith.
After a chance meeting at Auckland music venue The Kings Arms in early 2011, songwriters
Dan Thomas and Brian Wilson discussed the formation of a new band, aiming to write and
produce great songs, and to get together a group of musicians that were up for the challenge
of forging a career in the music industry. Before long they had found the right people for the
job, with long time friends Kevin Curtin and Fui Groovenasty coming on board, and shortly
thereafter, to complete the lineup keyboardist Richard Breed joined, bringing a more diverse
sound and feel to the band.
So fuelled by a shared respect for all the great rock bands of the past and present, from The
Who to The Queens of the Stone Age and beyond, Sagan's eye takes pride in their diverse set
of listenable rock songs. From a heartfelt ballad to in-your-face hard-rock, Sagan's eye has
already gained a reputation for delivering a powerful tight set of Kiwi music with a strong
emphasis on the songs and the band's powerful vocals. With eyes set firmly on the future,
Sagan's eye's immediate plan is to take their music to the general public and raise their profile
within New Zealand (and beyond). Starting with the release of Dead Man Walking, the band
also has a number of singles ready to record for future release and plans to record a full-length
album in 2013. With newly-appointed management, a self-funded video clip to support the
upcoming release of Dead Man Walking, and some exciting PR just around the corner,
Sagan's eye are ready to do the business.
