Sahanghee

 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
BandR&BSinger/Songwriter

Sahanghee's Acoustic RnB vibe is the result of Philly Soul, Gospel musicals and concerts, classical voice and guitar training, R&B and open mics. The talent came out in 2006.

Biography

Sahanghee "Song" Hahn is a singer and songwriter, composing in a style she calls "Acoustic RnB." Korean pansori music, rhythm & blues, and anything folk have inspired the melodies written off her Martin 6-string guitar. Born in Seoul, Korea and raised near Philadephia, she writes about her 'soul experiences' as a woman, Asian-American, and Christian.

2006 was a big year for Sahanghee. She won a Philly-wide singing contest and performed the National Anthem for the NFL Eagles during their New Year's Eve game against the Atlanta Falcons. She also modeled on the pages of VOGUE and TeenPeople magazine and was featured with her music on CBS' mini-featurette, Vocation/Vacation.

The solo artist also produced her debut album, Broke Heart Solutions, with Scott Herzog at Third Story Recording. 9 songs in 9 months, Broke Heart Solutions proved to her and to others that with her God, all things are possible.

Now after a short hiatus, Sahanghee is back at the drawing board. She continues writing, performing, and recording, as she prepares for a new project.

She just wants to keep pushing the envelope.

Eyes to See

Written By: Sahanghee

Eyes to See

You know yesterday
The thought came my way thinkin’
And I’ve been wondering about it sayin’
I been thinking about it prayin’
Lord will you really do
What you promise to
The thought went away
And I heard Him say

“If you had eyes to see
You’d see me working
And you’d believe that
If you had ears to hear
You’d hear me loud and clear
You’ll be safe
for having faith in me.”

Still it seems to me
I’m giving up my dreams waitin’
On your timing for me like I’m playin’
Like I don’t really care if I make it
Lord will I have lived
If I really give
My life to you
Then His Voice came through

“If you had eyes to see
You’d see me working
And you’d believe that
If you had ears to hear
You’d hear me loud and clear
You’ll be safe
for having faith in me.” (2x)

The world keeps spinning round
Sometimes I’m feeling down
I feel lost without
But then I see
Your love for me
And suddenly
Suddenly I feel so free

“If you had eyes to see
You’d see me working
And you’d believe that
If you had ears to hear
You’d hear me loud and clear
You’ll be safe
for having faith in me.”

Is This Your World

Is This Your World

Every day
When I look in the mirror and glimpse at my face
I wanna ask myself the same
What do you wanna be
What do you hope to do
And what are you willin to try
In this here so-called life

Is this really your world?
This material passin’ world
Are you stayin’ true to yourself?
Or just bendin’ to them
When you need some help?

When you need some help (2x)

Writin’ along
Puttin’ my heart and soul
Right all up in this song
Yet still tryin’ to be strong
But what will they think of me, a
Korean singin’ R&B,
What if they don’t feel me
Don’t feel like I belong

Is this really your world?
This material passin’ world
Are you stayin’ true to yourself?
Or just bendin’ to them
When you need some help? (2x)

Well I might not be a sister
But I got faith like a believer
What I’m tellin’ you is the truth
I’m a keep singin’ like I been singin’
With or without you . . .

Is this really your world?
This material passin’ world
Are you stayin’ true to yourself?
Or just bendin’ to them
When you need some help? (2x)

City of Jasper

Written By: Sahanghee

City of Jasper

Been kept awake at nights
By the tune I’ve just been hummin, hummin to you
Can’t go back to sleep despite
The fact I don’t know where such thoughts lead me to
Well if my fears are gonna keep me up tonight
At least give me specifics on what I’ve been feeling
Fill me in Lord, are these concerns of mine
Merely just tricks that my mind has been playin on me

Oh I wanna know
If your kingdom’s walls are truly clear as jasper, yeah
And I wanna know
If your city really glows like an ember, yeah
And I wanna know
If your trumpet will call me, call me home, yeah
‘Cause if it will I’ll sing, I’ll sing, I’ll sing
Till I hear your summons blowing on the wind for me
I’ll sing, I’ll sing, I’ll sing
Till I hear your summons blowing on the wind for me

I’d change my name if it would
Better convince me that God’s with us, yes
And I’d write ‘The Lord’s’ on my hand
If it would assure me I’m in His Plan
Well if my dreams are gonna keep me up tonight
At least give me specifics on what I’ve been dreaming
Fill me in lord, are these visions right
Is it the truth that my mind’s eye been seein’

I wanna know
If your kingdom’s walls are truly clear as jasper, yeah
And I wanna know
If your city really glows like an ember, yeah
And I wanna know
If your trumpet will call me, call me home, yeah
‘Cause if it will I’ll sing, I’ll sing, I’ll sing
Till I hear your summons blowing on the wind for me
I’ll sing, I’ll sing, I’ll sing
Till I hear your summons blowing on the wind for me

I see your beauty
It moves right through me
I sing of your beauty
And I know, I know that you hear me . . .
I wanna know
If your kingdom’s walls are truly clear as jasper, yeah
And I gotta know
If your city really glows like an ember, yeah
And I wanna know
If your trumpet will call me, call me home, yeah
‘Cause if it will I’ll sing, I’ll sing, I’ll sing
Till I hear your summons blowing on the wind for me
I’ll sing, I’ll sing, I’ll sing.
Till I hear your summons blowing on the wind for me
